Dragon Ball recently dropped amazing news for fans. However, as many wait for more information about the next Dragon Ball Super anime season, which will cover one of the most beloved arcs, there is still some disappointment due to the manga being on hiatus for two years.

While most still believe that the manga will eventually return, some fans have been wondering whether they will ever be able to see the next developments and a proper closure for this beloved series. Recently, some news emerged about Toyotaro producing more Dragon Ball content, but it wasn't exactly the update many were hoping for.

Bandai Spirits and Shueisha recently announced a new figure collection titled DRAGON BALL S.H.Figuarts Collection Son Goku, which includes a new figure of Goku, with the character dressed in Monkey King attire heavily inspired by Sun Wukong, alongside a databook featuring information on previous Dragon Ball S.H. Figuarts, and a new manga drawn by Toyotaro.

The manga will be short, only three pages, and a preview was posted on social media, showing Monkey King Goku and Vegeta, teasing the start of an exciting battle between them.

Will the Dragon Ball Super Manga Ever Return?

While this is not news about the Dragon Ball Super manga returning from its long hiatus, it means that Toyotaro still wants to create more content for the franchise. In fact, Toyotaro recently updated his social media, giving fans hope that the manga might return in the near future. His profile description on X (formerly Twitter) now features the following line: "Everything is for the return of the series."

This suggests that he is working hard to make the series return, but it may also mean that there are some challenges before the manga can continue. It has been reported that the rights to the Dragon Ball franchise are the source of a legal dispute between Shueisha and Akio Iyoku, founder and president of Capsule Corporation Tokyo. Unfortunately, no news regarding the status of this dispute has emerged since then, but it could take years before it reaches any settlement or agreement.

While it's unclear whether this dispute could affect Dragon Ball Super specifically, these complications usually have the potential to affect everything related to the future of the franchise until it is settled. Nonetheless, the production of a new Dragon Ball Super anime could suggest that some things are either unaffected or resolved. In any case, it's now clear that the author of the manga wants to keep writing it, and finally show us how deadly Black Frieza can be.

The Next Dragon Ball Super Anime Is Coming

Since the sequel to the Dragon Ball Super anime was announced, fans are as excited as ever to finally see more of the series adapted into animation. The next season of the anime will adapt one of the most beloved arcs of the story: the Moro Saga.

This arc spans volumes 9 through 15, featuring Moro, a powerful wizard, as the main antagonist. It also features Jaco, the main character of the Jaco the Galactic Patrolman manga, written by the late Akira Toriyama himself.

Dragon Ball Super is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
