Have you ever wanted to know what would happen if you filled an island full of your custom Miis and let them interact with one another while you build out their island surroundings? Then Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is the game for you. A zany life sim cross civilization builder that allows you to set the topics your Miis talk about, the items they own, and design the island that they live on, the limits of the game are very much the extent of your creativity. If you've poured tens or hundreds of hours into your island, though, and want to make a change, then you may be wondering how to reset Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, so you can start from scratch.
How to Reset Tomodachi Life Living the Dream and Restart Your Island
To restart Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, you need to delete the game's saved data on your Nintendo Switch 2. To do this, you need to follow the steps below:
- Go to your Nintendo Switch 2 home screen.
- Select the System Settings option on the bottom menu (it's the small cog icon).
- Go to the Data Management option on the sidebar menu.
- Select 'Delete Save Data.' You may need to close any games or apps you have open on your Nintendo Switch 2 to go into this section of the system settings.
- Select Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.
- Choose the 'Delete Save Data for (your profile name here)' option.
- Confirm you want to delete the saved data on the following screen by pressing A on the red box that says 'Delete Save Data.'
After you've done this, load up Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and you'll start the game as if your previous island never existed.
By deleting the game's save data through the process above, you won't be able to recover your old island if you change your mind. Be sure you're happy to wave goodbye to all your old Miis and your island before deleting your save.
One thing to keep in mind is that it is possible to edit a majority of your island as you see fit. This means the layout of your island shouldn't be a determining factor. Similarly, you can edit or remove any Miis you've created in the game, allowing you to create more than the maximum number of Miis you can have on your island at any given time (as long as you're willing to say goodbye to one of your current ones).
That being said, restarting the game is the best way to get that same sense of progression that you get in the early hours, which begins to drop off as you get into the later hours.
