The Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered collection has just arrived on PlayStation Plus, but there's a caveat that may make the PlayStation 4 version more ideal than the PlayStation 5 release. Since its launch in June 2010, PlayStation Plus has offered avid PlayStation gamers free monthly titles, and in 2022, it expanded its service with the addition of new tiers. Beyond the three games offered monthly through the Essential tier, the Extra tier adds an ever-expanding lineup of PlayStation 4 and 5 titles. Meanwhile, the Premium tier includes games from PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PSP, and cloud-streamed PlayStation 3 games.
Among its monthly offerings for April 2026, PlayStation Plus Essential will add the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of 2024’s Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered collection. Developed and published by Aspyr, this re-release brings back all three of Lara Croft’s original adventures across current-generation and last-generation PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo platforms, as well as PC. It was successful enough for Aspyr to return with a second set of Tomb Raider re-releases, Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered, exactly one year later.

Tomb Raider Remaster Collection Features No Platinum Trophy on PlayStation 5 Version
As pointed out on Reddit, the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered collection does not feature any Platinum trophies for the PlayStation 5 version. While the collection features over 200 trophies in both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions, none of the PlayStation 5 editions of the trilogy feature a Platinum trophy. The PlayStation 4 version instead features three separate Platinum trophies for each game in the collection.
This isn’t the only problematic Tomb Raider re-release on the PlayStation 5, as the eventual Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered collection also had no Platinum trophy. It appears to be a result of policy changes on the PlayStation 5, where bundled game collections group each release into a single unified section, rather than spreading them across different groups on your profile. This was previously seen with other PlayStation 5 titles, such as the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered's lack of a Platinum trophy in its PlayStation 5 version will be disappointing news for those trying it out for the first time through its PlayStation Plus release. Trophy hunters will thus have to stick to a slightly less robust version of the game if they want to add the Platinum trophies to their collections. If nothing else, at least this PS Plus release of the game includes both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game, so fans will have the opportunity to try both, no matter their preferences for trophies.

What’s more, considering that this is a collection of remasters of original PlayStation games, it’s likely not so drastically improved by the PlayStation 5 that it demands to be played on the newer device. While the PlayStation 5 version does offer 120 FPS gameplay to the PlayStation 4’s 60 FPS, the experience should be steady enough that those playing the PlayStation 4 versions will not be missing out too heavily. While Sony’s trophy policy is certainly restrictive, it’s nice that this PlayStation Plus release gives fans the chance to experience Lara Croft’s classic adventures however they see fit.
