The Division Resurgence takes Tom Clancy's non-stop action to mobile, and before players can start their careers as SHD Agents, they need to pick a Specialization. This 'class system' was first introduced in The Division 2, and it is now present in the mobile version of the game as well.
To help players decide which of these Specializations to pick, we've put up a comprehensive guide on their abilities, advantages, and gameplay style. Take a look before picking yours in The Division Resurgence.
Which Specialization Should You Pick in The Division Resurgence?
The Division Resurgence has preserved the basic mechanics of Specializations introduced in TD2, but a bit more simplified and adapted to Mobile. For starters, each Specialization has its own 'Signature Weapon,' but the primary difference is that players can unlock new gadgets and signature weapons as they play, so they are much more versatile than in the PC/Console Version.
Each specialization has two distinctive gameplay styles, governed by two separate 'skill trees,' which are called Specialization Focus. So, let's do a quick overview of them to make sure players understand which one suits them best.
- Vanguard: A weapons specialist, focused on long-range damage, deploying scanning pulse, buffing damage.
- Field Medic: The healer specialist greatly contributes to the group's survival and poisons enemies.
- Bulwark: The frontliner, capable of deploying a tactical shield and covering his team members.
- Demolitionist: An explosives expert, capable of inflicting tons of AoE damage to foes.
Every role in The Division Resurgence is critical, and a well-balanced party is necessary to take on the strongest enemies (Bosses) that appear in the late game, or, in case you enjoy PvP action, to face against Rogue Agents in the Dark Zone. But that's a story for another day; now, let's take a look at each of the specializations and their abilities.
Players can test out all specializations using the VR Agent Training program from the Game Menu. Go test it out and see for yourself which Specialization suits your tastes the best.

Vanguard
A weapon specialist, sniper, and tactical combatant who prefers to stay behind cover or take advantage of the terrain to pinpoint targets and eliminate them one by one.
|
Scanning Pulse |
Marks enemies and enhances the damage they take, and applies debuffs depending on focus. |
|
Smart Cover |
Enhances all nearby cover, granting damage reduction and other buffs depending on focus. |
|
Tactical Link (Signature Ability) |
Grants increased critical chance and auto aim for 12 seconds, players can spray and pray, and all bullets will hit the target. |
Vanguards have two distinctive Focuses: Commando and Recon.
Commando is more focused on dealing damage and using its Signature Ability to deal tons of critical damage with auto weapons. It's ideal for solo players, since it greatly enhances damage output and focuses on dealing with targets quickly.
Recon is more focused on precision damage and tactical support for the team, dealing more damage with its Signature Weapon Sniper Rifle, plus, its abilities shift into granting more utility buffs like movement speed, reload speed, and damage reduction.
Elden Ring: Best Overpowered Builds
These powerful, OP builds will make adventuring and fighting through the world of Elden Ring feel like a walk at the local park.
Field Medic
Capable of healing the team and also dealing poison damage to enemies in a large AoE. Deploys mini-drone hives to heal or cause damage, depending on its Specialization Focus. This is the ideal Specialization for those who want to put survival and cooperation over all things.
|
Chemical Trap |
Releases a small AoE detonation trap that applies Corrosive to enemies. |
|
Oxidizing Hive |
Each time the player deals damage with a weapon, a micro-drone will fly to the target and apply a Corrosive DoT on it. |
|
Oxidizing Swarm (Signature Ability) |
A swarm of micro-drones flies towards enemies in a large AoE, dealing damage and applying Corrosive to them. |
Field Medic has two main focuses:
Tactical Pharma, which specializes in applying Oxidizing swarms and Corrosion (Poison) to enemies. It is basically the combat branch that will hurt enemies more than it heals allies. Perfect for leveling up the Field Medic in Solo PvE content.
Combat Medicine, which turns most of the abilities of the Field Medic into powerful healing mini-drones that will keep the team alive. This is especially effective in group play, but less effective in solo mode.
Bulwark
The Bulwark is a Specialization that focuses on leading the team and going toe to toe with the enemy frontline, thanks to its deployable tactical Phalanx Shield and Shockwave Spike. The Signature Skill of this Specialization deploys the shield and the RCS- 12 Shotgun for a powerful frontline assault.
|
Shockwave Spike |
Marks enemies and enhances the damage they take, and applies debuffs depending on focus. |
|
Phalanx Shield |
Enhances all nearby cover, granting damage reduction and other buffs depending on focus. |
|
Breach Combo (Signature Ability) |
Grants increased critical chance and auto aim for 12 seconds, players can spray and pray, and all bullets will hit the target. |
Demolitionist
The Demolitionist is, arguably, the strongest Specialization for PvE. It combines great AoE control with targeted damage, and its Seeker Mine is the best thing to get priority targets out of cover. This also works like a charm in PvP situations, where players are heavily barricaded and holding a defensive position, or sniping you into submission. The Seeker Mine is extremely hard to hit in The Division Resurgence (unlike in TD2 where its major flaw was that it could be shot down), so Dark Zone Rogues will think twice before facing a Demolitionist head-on.
|
Explosive Seeker Mine |
Releases a small rolling mine that will pinpoint nearby targets, roll towards them, and explode on contact. |
|
Artillery Turret |
Deploys a Mortar Turret that will fire ordnance at groups of enemies in three successive waves. Extremely powerful in PvE. |
|
M32A1 Grenade Launcher. (Signature Ability) |
Deploys a grenade launcher to attack enemies. Can be shot six times before the ability enters a long cooldown, but deals massive damage to bosses and groups of enemies. |
The Demolitionist has two specializations:
HE Munitions, which focuses on dealing damage thanks to its upgraded ammo boxes that will deal massive damage to targets. This specialization also empowers the Signature weapon M32A1 Grenade Launcher.
Field Grenadier, which improves most of the Demolitionists' gadgets, including the Seeker Mine and Artillery Turret.
