Street Fighter 6 revealed its fourth year of content, with 4 characters joining the roster over the coming year, including official confirmation of Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7 being the guest character. The announcement comes right on the heels of Street Fighter 6 just wrapping up Year 3, which featured the returns of Sagat, C. Viper, Alex, and the cosmic code holder known as Ingrid.
As many fans rightly predicted, Capcom chose to announce its next year of content for Street Fighter 6 during Geoff Keighley's annual Summer Game Fest showcase. It shouldn't be a huge surprise, as Capcom typically has a major presence at these shows to show off new content for many of its big IPs. Last summer, Street Fighter 6 teamed up with AEW star Kenny Omega to reveal the Year 3 roster. This year, however, was a bit more subdued, with a shorter trailer and animated art for each of the characters rather than a big production as they had done in past years.

Capcom Reveals Street Fighter 6 Year 4
While it may have seemed a bit far-fetched at the time, the recent Street Fighter 6 rumors were true, as Capcom confirmed that Tifa Lockhart from Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7 is officially joining the roster during Year 4. Interestingly enough, Street Fighter 6's cosmic entity Ingrid was indeed the catalyst to make this happen as the video teased her utilizing one of her doors to bring Tifa into this universe. While the announcement is no doubt exciting for fans, there will be a little bit of a wait for her as she's scheduled to arrive early in 2027.

While Tifa is certainly the headliner of this group, Capcom is mixing things up with its other three additions. While the previous Street Fighter 6 rumor seemingly indicated the other characters joining her would be Vega, Gouken, and Mike Haggar, though that did not come to pass. Instead, Capcom shockingly reviewed 2 brand-new characters, Yasmine and Arjun. Yasmine will be kicking off the fourth year of content on August 3, with Arjun launching second during the Autumn months. While there are not many details for these newcomers, Arjun appears to utilize wind, while Yasmine has a curved knife.
Finally, the last character to join Street Fighter 6 is Bosch, scheduled to launch in Spring 2027. Fans may remember Bosch as an important NPC in Street Fighter 6's World Tour mode, originally positioned as the player's rival, who then gets wrapped up into the bigger events of the mode's narrative. With a massive roster of legacy characters yet to see the light of day in Street Fighter 6, the reaction from many in the community appears to be less than thrilled, outside of Tifa.
The choice to add Bosch is an interesting one as Street Fighter 6's World Tour Mode appears to be ending. While every DLC character added to the game so far has also been included in World Tour as a possible master that the player can train from, Ingrid was confirmed to be the final addition. Capcom is ending support for the mode, so players shouldn't expect to see any of the Year 4 characters get new content added for them in World Tour.
