As of this writing, there are currently six games slated to headline Steam's Free-to-Keep Promotion throughout May and June 2026. More free Steam games may appear in the promotion, aside from those listed here, but it's also possible that these listed games get skipped over in the long run by the nature of this information.

For the uninitiated, Steam's Free-to-Keep Promotion results in a handful of paid, premium games being made free for a limited time. It can be up to a week sometimes, but it's often just a few days. These promotions are initiated by the publisher of the game, not Steam itself, and can be detected through the backend with websites like Steamdb. Because of that, it's entirely possible that Steam vetoes the game or it ends up running sooner or later than stated, such was the case with Overcome Your Fears: Caretaker. While nothing here is exactly "confirmed," every game to properly make the Steam Free-to-Keep promotion appeared on this list, and these should appear sometime in the coming weeks, if not a month or two.

New Soulslike Game is Bloodborne Meets Dante's Inferno with a Unique Class System

A new Soulslike game, releasing on May 26, takes the best of The Divine Comedy and Bloodborne, and still manages to give its game a unique spin.

Upcoming Steam Free Games List

With this in mind, Steam's Free-to-Keep Promotion is slated to make the following games free in either May or June 2026: Dino Running From a FURRY, Warhammer 40K: Gladius - Relics of War, Bunny Hurling, Drift86, and Remothered: Tormented Fathers. There's obviously quite a range of games here, with Warhammer 40K being the biggest name in the current line-up. To be clear, none of these games are free yet, yet should go live on Steam in the coming weeks.

That said, each of these games will be entirely free to claim when they ARE made available. You'll be able to download them to your digital library and keep each game forever. Free is free, and free games are the cream of the crop when it comes to that old saying.

  • May 2026 - Dino running from a FURRY
  • May 2026 - Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War
  • May 2026 - Bunny Hurling
  • May 2026 - Drift86
  • Jun 2026 - Gravity Circuit
  • Jun 2026 - Remothered: Tormented Fathers

AquaDream Soundtrack is included as part of this Free-to-Keep Promotion, but as it is just a soundtrack, it has been omitted here. Overcome Your Fears: Caretaker is also listed for a June promotion, but the horror game was part of Steam's Free-to-Keep Promotion at the start of May. Ergo, it has also been omitted.

Dino running from a Furry

Dino running from a Furry, which is stylized like that, is everything it says in the title. Players take on the role of a cute little dinosaur being chased by someone in a Fursuit. Getting caught by the furry ends a run, obviously, but otherwise it is a 2.5D endless runner game with a colorful pop to its graphics. Players will have to avoid various obstacles, collect coins, and attempt to set records, with there also being ways to customize both the dinosaur and the furry, as evidenced by the screenshots.

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War

If Dino running from a Furry appeals to those who prefer simplistic gameplay in their Steam games, then Warhammer is obviously on the other end of that spectrum. Simple is an antonym to anything Warhammer 40K, and Gladius - Relics of War is no different. In short, Relics of War puts players in control of one of four factions (Astra Militarum, Space Marines, Orks, or Necrons) in a war of dominance for a planet's resources, via turn-based 4X strategy gameplay.

  • Each faction has a unique playstyle and technology tree
  • World maps are randomly generated with special features, environmental effects, and wildlife
  • Players wage war over powerful artifacts, while constructing cities, buildings, and fortifications from technology and resources available on-planet.
  • Players control a wide array of weaponry, tactical options, and city operations
  • Hero Units have special abilities and can be equipped with items

Bunny Hurling

If Dino is as simple as its name suggests and Warhammer is as complex as its franchise suggests, then Bunny Hurling is oddly deceptive. As the bunny caller, players go into the woods to track and hunt bunnies. Then, you load them into a catapult and toss them into the castle at the King's demand. Failing to meet his demands will not end in mercy, but the rabbits get progressively...different. There's a hunting gameplay loop based on stealth and waiting at the right time to shoot, but they are not the only thing in the woods. And the King's woods are described as non-linear and "full of bunny curiosities."

Drift86

Drift86 is a racing game focused on drifting, where players are encouraged to build up racing combos while enjoying music "that will make you want to press the accelerator." It's a pretty straightforward and simple racing game, with 30 maps, 40 different cars, multiplayer, a drift system as its focus (obviously), and Eurobeat music. For some, it might be fun to check out for a while—especially at the cost of free.

New Multiplayer Strategy RPG is Blowing Up on Steam

A recently-released strategy RPG on Steam is making waves and quickly climbing to the top of the platform's best-sellers list.

Gravity Circuit

Gravity Circuit is a flashy 2D platformer that brings classic Mega Man games to mind. In it, a futuristic world of robots is threatened by a virus army, and a lone operative is sent with the powers of the Gravity Circuit to prevent the Virus Army's victory. It dials in on classic platformers from the '80s and '90s across a single-player campaign with 12 stages. Each stage has a unique set of mechanics to test combat and platforming skills, while also being packed with secrets and civilians to rescue.

Remothered: Tormented Fathers

Remothered: Tormentered Fathers is a survival horror game on Steam where players take on the role of Rosemary Reed, as she investigates the home of Richard Felton regarding the disappearance of a girl named Celeste. It promises high-quality cutscenes, a psychological plot, and an immersive experience focused on audio, no health bars, and realistic survival methods. Stealth, action, strategic approaches, and so forth are all supported as players face enemies and stalkers (akin to Resident Evil's Mr. X or Jack Baker)
