If you’ve ever dreamed of piloting your own repulsorcraft in the Star Wars universe, you’re not alone. Star Wars: Galactic Racer is finally racing onto Steam on October 6th, 2026, and I’m already counting down the days. You can pre-purchase the game now for $59.99, which gets you a free vehicle banner and livery to deck out your rides. For those who want to go all-in, the Deluxe Upgrade at $79.99 adds three exclusive vehicle wraps, the official Digital Art Book, and even more ways to customize your experience. It’s shaping up to be a must-have for any Star Wars fan who loves a good race.

20 Best Star Wars Games Ever, Ranked

On top of many successful movies, the Star Wars franchise has also seen a whole host of incredible games that have brought its universe to life.

1

If you’re a fan of the prequel movies like I am, this game is a dream come true. Imagine tearing across the sands of Tatooine under those iconic twin suns, weaving through canyons carved by centuries of wind and sand. The environments aren’t just for show, either; players can expect to see dust clouds behind their craft and hear the engines roar louder than ever before. It all comes together to drop you right into the heart of the Star Wars galaxy. Let’s dive in and take a look at the confirmed vehicles you’ll be able to race when October 6th arrives.

Skim Speeder

Momentum Rules The Day

The first thing that caught my eye in the trailer was the Skim Speeder, zipping through the wreckage of a Star Destroyer like it was built for chaos. If you’re the type of player who loves hugging tight corners and threading the needle through obstacles, this is your ride. The Skim Speeder is all about precision and acceleration, letting you pull off those slick, agile moves that leave everyone else in your dust. It might not have the raw power of the bigger vehicles, but its maneuverability is a total game-changer for dodging attacks and sneaking through hidden shortcuts. Watching it blaze through a desert map packed with Galactic Civil War debris had my heart racing. It also got me thinking: what other legendary Star Wars locations will we get to race through? Personally, I’m crossing my fingers for a Naboo track, just to see how they bring those gorgeous landscapes to life.

These types of vehicles will work well and reward those following a steady, smooth path with higher placements, giving you enough time to slowly move out of the way of obstacles. At racing speeds, last-minute turns might not end well for those behind the wheel. Riders can utilize the vertical tilt, a perk available for the Skim Speeder that no other highlighted vehicle can perform to that extent.

Speederbikes

Technical Precision For Gearheads

Speederbikes are looking like some of the fastest rides in the game. They are thin, with narrow, dart-like bodies, built for pure speed and squeezing through narrow gaps. I spotted them boosting along a track with glowing yellow rivers and massive antenna cables crisscrossing the ground, which definitely adds to the challenge. The environment itself can clearly be just as dangerous as your opponents, so knowing the maps and picking the right vehicle for each track and weather condition will give you a real edge.

For those players who have a motorcycle license in real life, they might find themselves favoring the Speederbikes in-game. Known to tear up the roads like any high-speed motorbike, riders will have to be just as careful in-game as they would be while driving out in the real world. The vehicle's delicate body makes you an easy target for aggressive drivers looking to get as many opponents off the road as possible. Even small impact damage could be enough to send you exploding into a ball of flames, but these vehicles are perfect for those who handle turns carefully, using the explosive acceleration to catch up afterward and potentially score a win in Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

Landspeeder

Balanced All-Around Performance

The trailer also gave us a glimpse of a Landspeeder weaving through what looks like a Jakku racetrack, with a Mandalorian powering through for a first-place finish. If you’ve ever wondered how a Landspeeder would handle in a high-stakes race, now’s your chance to find out. Maybe this really is the way to win the Galactic Racing League. Landspeeders can hit some seriously high speeds thanks to their heavy engines, but that also means that if you have to slam on the brakes, it’ll take a while to get back up to top speed. My advice? Keep an eye out for shortcuts that let you maintain your momentum and avoid those slowdowns.

The Landspeeder is probably the repulsorcraft most of us will be able to drive best at first if we ever wind up in that situation. It looks like it drives akin to a traditional car, and the Landspeeder is definitely the most durable vehicle we have seen. This would likely be the best vehicle to pick if you are someone like me who finds themselves taking a lot of damage from opponents and racetrack hazards on the course.

Podracer

Pure Speed In A Classic Style

Let’s be honest. Podracers are what a lot of us have been waiting for. If you’ve ever imagined yourself zipping past Watto, you’re in luck. The official website and trailer confirm that classic Podracers are featured in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. I even spotted one racing through Ando Prime, just like in the original Podracing game back in 1999. Get ready for some serious nostalgia and high-speed action, as we finally get to feel the adrenaline that young Anakin Skywalker felt when all he had in his heart was love and hope, unconsumed by the dark side.

It’s no wonder that we’re all hyped for Podracing. Watching Anakin pull off those wild tricks and jumps always made me wonder what it would be like to handle that kind of speed. Podracers look like absolute beasts, and if you can master the insane power contained in those twin engines, you’ll have a real shot at taking first place. This vehicle might be best suited for experienced racers, though, as using air brakes to stick your landings after big jumps is no joke. But hey, if your ego deceives you, and you want to go for it anyway, I’m right there with you. Sometimes you just have to send it.
