Solo Leveling has proven to be a tremendously popular series over the years, and its anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures and Aniplex has only served to significantly expand its reach. Thanks to the immense success of Solo Leveling Season 1 and 2, all eyes are currently on the next season of the series. However, as is quite clear already, Solo Leveling Season 3 isn't coming out in 2026 and has faced a significant delay.
The Solo Leveling franchise is very well aware of how popular the series is, and as such, has lined up other major projects for us to keep ourselves busy with, until A-1 Pictures finally comes in and drops the next TV anime installment. The biggest Solo Leveling project for 2026 is Solo Leveling: Karma, which is officially confirmed to be released in the second half of 2026. This game is going to expand upon the world of Solo Leveling significantly and explore never-before-seen lore from the series. Solo Leveling Karma will primarily serve to expand on the events of the 27-Year Monarch War.
Solo Leveling Karma Will Add Much-Needed Lore To The Biggest War In The Manhwa In The Upcoming Release
Solo Leveling Karma is the newest game in the franchise that is about to change the way fans see the story. Solo Leveling Karma is a PC and mobile game, and while its exact release date hasn't been confirmed yet, we are very excited for it, for a multitude of reasons, and the biggest of them all being its brave approach to dig deep into and explore the 27-Year Monarch War that was never fully shown in the novel or the manhwa. While waiting for more information, such as the exact release date, fans can instead check out its amazing, fully animated trailer, available to watch on YouTube:
Fans of Solo Leveling who are only familiar with the anime probably aren't aware of what the 27-Year Monarch War is. For those who want to avoid spoilers, reading the manhwa or the novel before diving into this major Solo Leveling 2026 game is recommended. This is because the 27-Year Monarch War happens at the very end of the story, and while we don't know what exactly happens in it, we do know what causes it and how it ends.
The 27-Year Monarch War happens at the end of Solo Leveling when Sung Jinwoo goes back in the past to avoid all the tragedies that unfolded in the real timeline. By doing so, he engages in a 27-year war with the Monarchs where he goes on to kill each and every one of them. Solo Leveling Karma will allow fans to dive right into the thick of it and play as Sung Jinwoo as he fights the monstrously powerful Monarchs of the world. Consequently, Solo Leveling Karma will shed light on whom Jinwoo fought first and what exactly happened in each battle. It's definitely going to be an exciting piece of lore that we can't wait to see unfold.
Unfortunately, an exact release date for this game isn't known. Netmarble has confirmed that it'll come out in the second half of 2026, but the month and the date aren't known yet. As soon as more information is available, we'll update you accordingly.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Faces Delay Due To Other Studio Projects And A Healthy Animation Schedule
While Solo Leveling: Karma will be incredibly fun to play, most fans of the franchise are eagerly looking forward to Solo Leveling Season 3. With Solo Leveling Season 2 having released a year and a half ago, it has become apparent that the third season will not release in 2026 at all. Solo Leveling Season 3 has been mentioned by some producers in brief comments, but has yet to be officially confirmed by the studio. Recently, Atsushi Kaneko confirmed at Mumbai Comic Con in May 2026 that the next anime project is currently in the works.
“Give us a bit more time and we will share something, they are working on it right now.” — Atsushi Kaneko, Mumbai Comic Con, May 2026
The CEO of Crunchyroll also recently confirmed that, while there is no update, Solo Leveling is currently under significant work and the next show will be coming soon. By the looks of it, Solo Leveling Season 3 seems to have been delayed to 2027, with an impending announcement at some point in 2026.
“We are just as eager as the fans… We know the creators are actively working on it, so hopefully we can announce something soon,” — Rahul Purini, Crunchyroll CEO
The primary reason for the delay for Solo Leveling Season 3 is the time that A-1 Pictures has at hand. Solo Leveling, although huge, isn't the only project they handle. Other projects need work as well, and sometimes, that can mean Solo Leveling being pushed to the background. At the same time, the staff involved with Solo Leveling can also be moved around, which means that the team that works on the show can be unavailable at times, which adds to the delay. But, thanks to the recent statement by Crunchyroll's CEO, it is clear that work of some form on Solo Leveling Season 3 is already underway.

Solo Leveling Has Many Other Projects On The Way For The Future
We're all incredibly excited for Solo Leveling Karma. But, there are also other projects from the franchise that excite us. While not completely confirmed yet, Solo Leveling might be getting a new movie. As published in a leaked committee report from late 2025, it has been strongly hinted that the Solo Leveling franchise wants to replicate the huge success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. Whether this movie exists as a sequel to Season 2 or is a stand-alone project remains unknown. Those working at A-1 Pictures and Aniplex have not made any comments on rumors pertaining to this potential movie, but it's exciting nonetheless. If true, it will be an exciting experience that we would absolutely love to experience in theaters.
There is one more project that could also potentially come in the future, and that's Solo Leveling Live Action, by Netflix. Indeed, Solo Leveling is getting a live-action adaptation and while we still don't know much about it, some details have been confirmed already. It has already been confirmed that the series will have 7 episodes and feature one of the best VFX teams in the world. Filming for it began in May 2026, which means it'll likely come out at some point in 2027. While not everyone is as excited for this adaptation, it might surprise fans and actually be an interesting series.
“In Japan, it’s still not on the level of Dragon Ball, One Piece, or Naruto. If Season 3 happens, that’s when I want to truly break that barrier.” — Atsushi Kaneko
No matter which way we look at it, Solo Leveling is only getting bigger with each passing year. The franchise is now popular all over the world, and its influence is only going to grow. Previously, Atsushi Kaneko stated that they aim to have it reach the same level of popularity as Dragon Ball and One Piece in Japan in the future. While that is going to be difficult to achieve, it's still an admirable goal and we're eager to see where the franchise goes later down the line.
