S-Rank Hunters in Solo Leveling are the strongest humans in the world. The best of the best are the National Level Hunters, who can accomplish feats lesser S-Ranks would never be able to manage. The average S-Rank Hunter is overpowered as is, but thanks to the System, Sung Jinwoo and his son Sung Suho are able to reach outrageous heights that far surpass other anime characters.

The most overpowered S-Rank Hunters in Solo Leveling are God-Tier warriors who can rise to any challenge, especially in the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok timeline. By Ragnarok, Solo Leveling's hierarchy of power has completely changed. Not only is Sung Jinwoo even more broken than ever, several S-Ranks from the original series have received major buffs to their power.

Solo Leveling: Each Country's Strongest S-Rank Hunter, Ranked

Sung Jinwoo is easily the strongest Solo Leveling character, and South Korea’s most powerful S-Rank, but he's not alone at the top of totem pole.

6 Liu Zhigang is China's Greatest Warrior

Due to China's unique ranking system, Liu Zhigang is a 7-Star Hunter, which translates into an S-Rank. Liu Zhigang is also the #2 Ranked National Level Hunter in the world, behind only Thomas Andre. That said, Liu Zhigang's feats far surpass anything Thomas Andre accomplishes in the original timeline.

In the Japan Crisis story arc, Liu Zhigang was powerful enough to kill a Giant without so much as breaking a sweat. A weapons master, superbly fast, and stronger than almost every Hunter in the world, Liu Zhigang is extremely strong – but he's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to overpowered S-Rank Hunters in Solo Leveling.

5 Sung Il-Hwan is Even Stronger Than National Level Hunters

The ranking system did not exist when Sung Il-Hwan disappeared during a dungeon raid. By the time he came out a full decade later, Sung Il-Hwan had not only grown to become an official S-Rank, his power greatly surpassed even National Level Hunters. During the Monarchs War story arc, Sung Il-Hwan is strong enough to fight both Rakan and Sillad at the same time.

That said, fighting two Monarchs at once proves too much for Sung Il-Hwan, and ends up killing him in the original Solo Leveling timeline. In the revised Solo Leveling: Ragnarok timeline, Sung Il-Hwan is strong enough where the Outer Gods cannot influence him, something even National Level Hunters failed to resist. Sung Il-Hwan is easily the strongest Ruler's Vessel in the series.

4 Thomas Andre Becomes a Monarch-Level Hunter in Ragnarok

Featured It's Time To Say Goodbye To Solo Leveling For Now Jinwoo Thomas Andre

Thomas Andre is the strongest S-Rank Hunter from the United States and the #1 Ranked National Level Hunter in the entire world. For most of Solo Leveling Season 3, Thomas Andrew will actually be much stronger than Sung Jinwoo. In the manhwa, Thomas Andre and Sung Jinwoo eventually fight one another.

Although Sung Jinwoo is much stronger by this point and ultimately defeats Thomas Andre, Andre is powerful enough to hurt him. Thomas Andre eventually becomes the Monarch of Conquest in the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok timeline, making him far stronger than he ever was in the original timeline.

3 Cha Hae-In Becomes a National Level-Tier S-Rank in Ragnarok

Cha Hae-In was one of the most powerful S-Rank Hunters in South Korea in Solo Leveling's original timeline. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to keep up with the series' out-of-control power-scaling. Cha Hae-In is significantly stronger in Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, however. As Sung Suho's mother, Cha Hae-In evolved to a level where she can harness Monarch-level mana. By Ragnarok, Cha Hae-In is actually strong enough to defeat an Apostle of Itarim.

The fact Cha Hae-In can kill an Apostle and absorb its mana into herself means she's much stronger than any other S-Rank Hunter, including National Level Hunters. In the Solo Leveling: Ranarok light novel, Cha Hae-In even goes on to beat the final boss in the S-Rank Raid story arc. Cha Hae-In may not be as strong as her husband or son, but she's rounded out an already overpowered family by technically becoming a vessel for a Monarch while pregnant.

2 Sung Suho Isn't as Strong as His Father, But He's Just as OP

Sung Suho was introduced at the end of the original Solo Leveling after Sung Jinwoo reset the timeline. The son of Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In, Sung Suho inherited Sung Jinwoo's overwhelming power, as well as access to the System. By Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Chapter 67, Sung Suho's stats within the System are already higher at Level 75 than Sung Jinwoo's were at Level 80.

While he's nowhere close to matching his father currently, Sung Suho has the potential to one day surpass Sung Jinwoo. Sung Suho is incredibly powerful, incredibly fast, can tank hits just like his dad, and can create his own Shadow Army as the successor to the Monarch of Shadows. Once Solo Leveling: Ragnarok officially releases in English on July 21, 2026, fans will finally get to see just how powerful Sung Suho is.

1 Sung Jinwoo is One of the Most Overpowered Characters in Fiction

Forget S-Ranks, Sung Jinwoo is the single strongest character in the Solo Leveling franchise, on top of being one of the most overpowered fictional characters of all time. The System allows Sung Jinwoo to level up, raise his stats, store away powerful weapons, and purchase new items at the store with currency he gains from killing magic beasts. As a Necromancer and Shadow Monarch, Sung Jinwoo can use Shadow Extraction to create an army of supremely powerful Shadows who fight on his behalf.

By Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Sung Jinwoo has become functionally immortal. His Shadow Army has become National Level in terms of strength, and he can personally destroy Gates with little to no effort. Sung Jinwoo is strong enough to hold his own against multiple Outer Gods, and can now move faster than light. Sung Jinwoo's feats and growth by Ragnarok make him borderline impossible to defeat at this point. He is far and away the most overpowered S-Rank Hunter in existence, and scales beyond anyone in his universe.
