Summary

  • Pragmata, Capcom's mysterious sci-fi game, might be re-revealed this week after years of silence.
  • The game was first unveiled in 2020 and aims to become one of Capcom's core franchises in the future.
  • The re-reveal could happen during PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest, hinting at a potential upcoming release.

Fans could finally get another look at Pragmata later this week, if rumors are true. While Capcom has given gamers plenty of major titles like Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 to sink their teeth into over the past few years, it's remained relatively quiet about its delayed mysterious sci-fi game. That wait could be coming to an end, with a Pragmata re-reveal reportedly on tap.

Capcom first unveiled Pragmata in 2020, offering glimpses of a dystopian world and a Last of Us-esque pairing of an adult in an astronaut suit and a little girl. The company confirmed that it will be an action-adventure game set on Earth's moon and that it hopes Pragmata will become another one of its core franchises, but revealed little beyond that. Since then, there's been little to no news on it, apart from one more trailer and a couple of delays, but that could change soon.

Leaker and noted Capcom insider Dusk Golem tweeted in the early morning of June 4 that a Pragmata re-reveal is coming "either tomorrow or on Friday." Depending on their time zone, that could mean a fresh look at the game could come during the PlayStation State of Play later today. If it comes on Friday, that could mean Pragmata is part of the Summer Game Fest on June 6, which makes sense, considering how the showcase will doubtlessly entail some big announcements and trailers. Capcom could always drop a trailer independently, too, but one of these events seems more likely, given that they'd give the company a large, captive audience.

Capcom Could Re-Reveal Pragmata This Week

Earlier this year, Dusk Golem reassured fans that Pragmata was still in development as of early 2025. They also said they believe the game will be "something special" when it finally comes out. Considering how Capcom mentioned turning the game into an ongoing series, it seems likely that Dusk Golem thinks so, too. As with all leaks and rumors, though, it's best to take the news with a grain of salt. Still, Dusk Golem has been accurate in the past, so there may be something to these latest claims.

There's still no word about when the game might release. It was originally supposed to come out in 2022, but Capcom has delayed Pragmata twice since then, first to 2023 and then indefinitely, listing a question mark in place of a release window. If Capcom is showing off the game again this year, it could mean the game is back on track for an upcoming release, possibly within the next year or two, given its previous estimates. However, nothing is certain until the rumored re-reveal finally comes.

Pragmata is a unique, sci-fi action-adventure game from Capcom.

Follow Hugh, a member of an ill-fated investigation team, and Diana, a young android, as they navigate a lunar facility taken over by rogue AI in search of a way to Earth.

ONE TRAGIC ACCIDENT. AN UNLIKELY DUO.

At a remote lunar research facility, humanity discovers a new ore—one that, when properly refined, can be used to create almost anything using 3D printers.

When the facility suddenly falls silent, Hugh and his team are dispatched to investigate...but then disaster strikes.

Hugh is saved by Diana, a lone android wandering the complex. The two of them must join forces to find a way off the moon while working their way through an AI-controlled facility bent on stopping them.

Half-realized replicas of human civilization sprawl across the lunar surface, while inside, only scattered traces of the facility's vanished inhabitants remain. What buried truth awaits at the end of Hugh and Diana's journey?

TAKE CONTROL OF TWO CHARACTERS—AT THE SAME TIME.

Guide both Hugh as he moves, shoots, and jumps, and Diana, who hacks at the same time.

Enjoy a fresh, new blend of gameplay in this truly unique system that will push your brain to its limits.
