A fan noticed and shared a hilarious mistake in a cutscene during their playthrough of Resident Evil Requiem. Ever since it was revealed to the public eye at the Summer Game Fest in June 2025, Resident Evil Requiem immediately became the center of attention for many players across the world. In the months leading up to its release, longtime fans of the Resident Evil franchise spent days and weeks dissecting the trailers and officially released screenshots for hidden details.
Soon, rumors started spreading all over social media about Leon S. Kennedy returning to Resident Evil Requiem after a 13-year-long absence from the franchise. This rumor was fueled by a leaked PlayStation Store image for Resident Evil Requiem featuring Leon S. Kennedy alongside the FBI agent Grace Ashcroft, the newest protagonist in the franchise. Leon's appearance in the game was later confirmed by Capcom when his return was officially revealed in a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem at the 2025 Game Awards.
Resident Evil Requiem Cutscene Blooper That Players Can’t Ignore
On the official subreddit for Resident Evil Requiem, a Redditor going by the username SupressiveFire posted a screenshot from their game's playthrough highlighting a small mistake in a cutscene. In the second half of Resident Evil Requiem, there is a conversation between Leon and Grace. In the far distance, players can spot a lit-up room with a single chair inside. The mistake here is that this room was supposed to have a control panel desk and a key box inside, but someone at Capcom accidentally forgot to add them in the cutscene.
This room plays a crucial part in the gameplay, as this is where players, while playing as Grace, have to carefully navigate to avoid zombies and clickers to reach the control panel and activate the nearby crane for Leon. SupressiveFire also pointed out that the crane that the players have to activate during Grace's gameplay section in Resident Evil Requiem is also missing in the cutscene.
While this blunder looks quite serious, the user takes it in great stride and jokes, mentioning how the well-received Resident Evil Requiem is "literally unplayable" and their immersion is "ruined." The post has garnered some attention on the Resident Evil Requiem subreddit, as well as a variety of comments where other users are also joking about such a silly mistake.
What's That Weapon?
Identify the silhouettes before time runs out.
Identify the silhouettes before time runs out.
This is a somewhat small issue in an otherwise polished game and doesn't take away much from the emotions that the cutscene is trying to portray to the players. After all, it took almost two months after the release of Resident Evil Requiem for someone to actually discover this little goof-up.
If this minor mistake comes to the attention of Capcom, there is a good chance that it will be fixed in a later update since it slightly breaks immersion. Nevertheless, Resident Evil Requiem has become the fastest-selling game in the franchise, and the majority of the fans are now looking forward to the story expansion officially confirmed by the game's director, Koshi Nakanishi.
