Fans subscribed to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus can now enjoy two new games. PlayStation Plus recently changed how it will deliver games throughout the month for its Extra and Premium subscribers, with June being the first month to institute the new release schedule.
The way PS Plus has typically operated was that the service would deliver all the games coming to the service all at once; however, Sony has decided to shake up PS Plus additions going forward. Starting in June 2026, PS Plus games will be released in weekly waves, with the current batch of games released on June 16, 23, and 30. While this could be considered an annoying change for some fans, the big releases this month might have players happy to get some breathing room between each drop.

PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can play Final Fantasy 16 and Gitaroo Man right now, with some big games to follow on June 23 and June 30. Final Fantasy 16 is Square Enix's latest mainline entry to the Final Fantasy franchise, taking a more action-oriented approach to its gameplay rather than its traditional turn-based or strategy-based mechanics. Reviews praised Final Fantasy 16 for its story and combat, ranking it high on the list of great FF games. Meanwhile, Gitaroo Man is a classic PS2 rhythm game from 2001, which is finally seeing a re-release 20 years after its PSP port in 2006.
Still to come later in June for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Life is Strange: Double Exposure on June 23, tossing in another massive RPG into the mix for the month. Then, on June 30, Sony rounds out the month with Farming Simulator 25, Blades of Fire, and Black Desert, creating a good mix of casual cozy gameplay and high-octane action for all subscribers. What's more, in case any fans missed it, Sonic X Shadow Generations is already available to play on PS Plus.
As a whole, it seems like the big standout games this month are Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Final Fantasy 16, at least in terms of big blockbuster AAA games that players can spend a ton of time on. With Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 finished and a sequel on the way, now would be a good time to hop into the franchise. Life is Strange and Farming Simulator 25 are also great games that have gained widespread popularity and are worth a shot if players are looking for something new. Meanwhile, Blades of Fire and Black Desert are a little more niche, but they round out the June lineup nicely if fans are willing to try what some consider an underrated dark fantasy game or try out an MMO.

Unfortunately, fans have also lost some great games on the PS Plus service this month. Along with the new batch of games on June 16, Sony has now removed Red Dead Redemption 2 from the service, which is one of the highest-rated games that PS Plus has ever had. In July, fans can expect to see Risk of Rain 2 and Tropico 6 leave the service as well. However, with a new month comes new games, and fans should keep an eye out for what's coming next to the PS Plus service.
