Destiny 2
Honestly, it has plenty of faults. Name a single game that does not? The fact is, Destiny 2 is insanely complex, and every time there is an update, it has to weave in new code that works with 10 years of updates, patches and expansions. Hundreds of thousands of players connect from across the planet, daily, and they do so without issue not to mention the almost infinite combination of PC graphics cards, CPUs, hard drives, memory, motherboards, internal components that Destiny has to be built to work on. Gaming is really a modern miracle of technology and while there will always be some issues, most are fixed fairly quickly. While its had its ups and downs over the years, it has had its extreme highs as well, and even though the Bungie of today is not the OG Bungie we remember, that has nothing to do with how the game plays. There has never been a game in which ive gotten so many hours of playtime per dollar spent. Ive been here since Destiny 1 and I will still be be playing as long as there are updates to download. Ive never had troubles connecting, installing, or playing the game in the 10+ years of logging in. The story, the music, level design, and art (mostly), are some of the best to be found within the MMORPG space. The smooth gunplay mixed with the dramatic moments of a raid, or high-level mission, are second to none. That does not mean, however, that Destiny 2 will continue to extract an 8 or 9 out of me. The recent updates and seasonal content has been a little lackluster and depending on how the expansions turn out, will ultimately prove if this score continues but, for now, Ive never spent so much time in a single game. Not even my beloved Mass Effect series. So that must say something in of itself. If your new, it might be a little tough to get started, but find some friends or a Destiny guide and you too will be captivated.
