it's been too long since I've seen the original one. I don't remember a ton of differences. The pacing was much slower, I remember Kite being introduced in the first episode (the event that's referenced when they met in the 2011 version), I've always called it York Shin instead of York New though that could just be down to the fansub I first watched, and I remember an extra phase in the hunter exam where they're hunting for treasure.
Edited for a gboard correction (somehow don't became fully which completely changed the point I was making)
