Read Steam user agreement and terms of service. It states plainly, that you purchase licenses of games temporarily until steam revokes them for a reason. Don't use steam if you don't agree with the terms. If you sign a contract that says, you'll give your liver for 50,000$, and then are mad when they take your liver, that's not them ripping you off, that's simply the agreed upon deal
