The TWO major good points about consoles is that ALL the boxes (hardware) is always exactly the same (per brand, ie: Xbox and Playstation). Game developers only need to make one version of their game per console brand. Whereas with the PC? Developers need to contend with which Gen (and brand) of CPU, which video card (and hundreds of video drivers), how much RAM needed, different hardware (and their associated drivers), and hundreds of software and driver updates.
Then there is also the cost of a console vs the cost of a PC; and depending on if a brand new PC, or a home built and updated PC, etc.....
I personally used to be a hardcore PC gamer since the 90s. And I had always custom built my own systems from scratch. I could have bought a tiny island nation with all the money I spent on all of those PCs! Not to mention all the hours, days, weeks I'd spent building, tweaking, troubleshooting, and fixing them as well - often spent more time doing that, then playing my damned games! Now with either my Xbox or PS5, I just install the game (disc or online) and voila, play the games! Not to mention that since cable networks are now disappearing? I use my Xbox for all my media now too! Especially since the Xbox supports Dolby Atmos, and sadly the PS5 does not 🤬🤬🤬‼
But of course, "your mileage may differ" from mine 😉😉👍
