See All10 Best Story-Driven JRPGs, Ranked
Yup. I just finished Xenogears this summer and what a shame it took me this long to get around to it and play it but, maybe it was the best point of my life, it came about at just the right time. Id just finished Mass Effect and couldnt believe how broken, clunky, unbalanced, bland, I guess I could go on, but it was absolutely horrible! and now Im reluctant to go on to 2 and then 3, but then, I was debating between Final Fantasy VI or Xenogears and Im.glad I was pressed for Xenogears. To this day, now, its the most hours Ive put into maybe a game altogether at 125 hours. Goes to show power isnt everything. Even for a PS1 game its really impressive, the particle effects and the fact it didnt have to use pre-rendered backgrounds (yes coming from a HUGE RESIDENT EVIL FAN!!!!) Maybe this list isnt ranked, but if it was, yeah, I would say Xenogears. It and Legend of Dragoon are my favorites so far
5 Open-World RPGs With Virtually Perfect Class Systems
When you're telling a specific story thats character driven, you want all of that dictated, and if you ask me, its more powerful that way, rather than an empty husk. Your example you gave was God of War, which was a bad example because, like you said, its NOT an RPG but contains RPG-like elements, but Kratos with his background, or history, and his his personality, as well as the games setting just doesnt work. If its a well enough and deep enough story (which is what Sony/PlayStation developers excell it), having a class system would make it an empty shell. I guess for the liberal type people that demand diversity and argue for the inclusion, those are you people that are racists and segregationists because rather than just saying people are people, are instead trying to carve wedges to make distinctions to instigate fights or disagreements or wind up controversy keys, maybe for some kind of monatary gain, I typically link and associate with laziness. If you want to stomp out racism "Stop talking about it" Morgan Freeman is so famous amongst the "racists", I guess, for saying because its Caucasians that quote it more than blacks. Watching GLORY about the Civil War with Denzel Washington is a great story that Freeman and Washington both understood going into it that teaches both the importance of equality but also teaches the shoe, today, is on the other foot.
Now sure, you're talking about CLASS and not Race, but they can often times bleed together, but Kratos is clearly a master of his trade and because hes what he is, hes a jack of all trades and can be a master of them all, but I dont think its necessary to have to pick a specific trade for a character or have to pick one when, I guess, your game and level design couple with a strong story to get to the point and not draw out the game for the sake of padding it and making it seem like you're getting your moneys worth. You mentioned Xenoblade but, play Xenogears, sure you see it a little bit, but not necessary

New God of War Game With Kratos Officially Announced
As long its good, why not play the upcoming game.
We're done with Norse mythos. Time to move on and the plan was. Assassins Creed almost seems to have taken that page from the God of War playbook and implemented it instead of God of War. Time to move on to Egyptian Mythos or Buddhism or whatever. You dont need to hang around a single mythos for so long. Theres so much to explore in mythos and thats what Kratos has become. A way to traverse the universe through time and space to learn different philosophies and ideologies, thats what hes become and represents. Move on!
Steam's New Kingdom Hearts Meets Jak and Daxter Game Charmed Me in Five Minutes
Interesting you compare it to Ratchet & Clank. Gotta be flattering to Insomniac Games, but most compare it more to Sonic Adventure 2
