So players do not need to worry about missing any progress or rewards if they don't have the DLC. What has been uncovered though, is that there's a final reward for collecting all the Colorful Screws in the game, and here in this guide, you'll learn how to get it!
All Pokemon Legends Z-A Preorder Bonuses

Where to Exchange Colorful Screws in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Colorful Screws can be exchanged at Racine Construction for Canari Plushes. These special plush toys give passive buffs to you and your Pokemon team, including boosted XP gains and catch rates.
Racine Construction is located on the outer ring of Lumiose City on the southeastern edge of the city. To get there, fast travel to the Pokemon Center near Wild Zone 1. Then, just follow the road east until you reach Racine Construction.
The Colorful Screws exchange worker is located at the entrance to the building, but you can also go inside Racine Construction to register it as a fast travel point so you can return more easily later on.
There are five types of Canari Plushies to choose from in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and each of them provides a different bonus effect. You can also upgrade the benefits of their buffs by trading in more Colorful Screws.
The prices start at three Colorful Screws each, but increase in gradients of 3 as players purchase the plushies:

There are a total of 100 Colorful Screws in Lumiose City, but players need to gather 77 to purchase all the Canari Plushies, and if they manage to get all these upgrades, they will be eligible for a last final reward: A Giant Canari Plushie that will be sent to their room in Hotel Z-A by none other than Canari herself (yes, not the fake one).
Colorful Screws are typically found at construction sites throughout Lumiose City, especially on scaffolding and other climbable areas. But they are also found on rooftops and in hard-to-access zones that are locked behind progression barriers, such as unlocking the Rotom Glide, or reactivating the Holovators.
You'll be able to spot them from a distance. Keep an eye out for glowing purple Poke Balls while you're exploring the city. You can also find other rare items like Tiny Mushrooms while exploring in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
