The path to Pokemon Go Fest 2026: Mega Finale is open with the Mega Ascension event, and players all over the world are now able to challenge some very special raids to get some of the rarest and most powerful Mega Pokemon in the game. With so many Raids to tackle and so many bonuses to enjoy, players might lose track of every activity.

Pokemon GO Mega Ascension Event Bonuses & Mega Mewtwo Adventure Effects
The Mega Ascension Event in Pokemon Go will grant all players the following bonuses:
- The Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 30 (starting on Monday, August 31 and ending on Friday, September 4, 2026).
- A new Branching Timed Research featuring Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie will begin (Part 2 continues in the Mega Finale event).
- Pokemon caught in Mega Raids during the event will have a chance to display a new Mega-Evolution themed background. When Pokemon that have this Mega-Evolution background mega evolve, they will display additional visual effects.
- Increased active Mega-Raids available all over the world.

Pokemon GO Mega Ascension Event Raid Schedule
Take a look at the Raid Schedule for the Mega Ascension Event in Pokemon Go. Starting August 31, 2026, players will be able to face these powerful Mega Evolved Pokemon, and capture them after beating them in Raids:
- Mega Dragonite, Mega Victreebel, and Mega Malamar - Monday, August 31
- Mega Falinks - Tuesday, September 1
- Mega Skarmory - Wednesday, September 2
- Mega Starmie - Thursday, September 3

Also, Mega Latios and Mega Latias will be available in Raid Battles during the whole duration of the event (August 31 - September 4).
Pokemon GO Mega Ascension Spawns
Pokemon Go players will be able to enjoy a series of boosted encounters for event-themed Pokemon. These are the starter forms of all Mega-Evolved Pokemon (sans Latias & Latios, of course) that will be appearing in the wild at a higher rate:
- Chespin
- Fennekin
- Froakie
- Dratini
- Staryu
- Pikachu
- Bellsprout
- Inkay
- Skarmory
- Falinks
Pokemon GO Mega Ascension Go Pass Bonuses & Timed Research
Players will also be able to purchase a special Go Pass during the event, which grants access to many special additional bonuses. The GO Pass Deluxe: Mega Finale sells for $14.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency), and features the following bonuses:
- Increases chances for Shiny Encounters in both featured Raids and wild encounters.
- Additional Candy and Candy XL earned from Mega Raids.
- Additional XP earned for completing Mega Raids.
- Additional Mega Energy for the Kalos Starter Pokemon you chose during the research.
- A cosmetic T-Shirt inspired by the Kalos Starter you chose.
Now, for every Pokemon trainer in Pokemon Go, the regular Go Pass offers the Branching Research featuring Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie is already available. Every player can enjoy it regardless of their current Go Pass status.
