To travel to the islands, players must have a Flying-type Pokemon in the team with a Fly HM move.

Oddish had access to a variety of damaging and non-damaging moves at Level 32, including Sweet Scent, Poison Powder, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, Acid, and Moonlight. You can also get an Oddish at Level 44 that already learned Petal Dance.

Raise Oddish's level to 21

To reach the next evolution chain of Oddish, level up the Pokemon by battling Water, Ground, or Rock-type Pokemon in the wild areas of Kanto or Sevii Islands. Players can also level up the Root Vegetable Pokemon by battling other NPC trainers or feeding it with Rare Candies to speed up progress to level 21.

You can build Oddish with non-damaging moves that can inflict status effects in battle. These moves include Sweet Scent, Poison Powder, Stun Spore, and Sleep Powder, which can be learned before evolution.

Oddish's level can be easily increased with Switch Training, Day Care, or Exp. Share. Switch training involves starting the battle with Oddish first and then swapping it to another Pokemon teammate. This allows the Weed Pokemon to gain a percentage of experience after combat.

Utilizing the Day Care involves sending Oddish to the Day Care NPC on Route 5 to gain passive experience. When it comes to Exp. Share, this Held item provides Oddish with 50% experience from every battle while in the player's Pokemon team, even if it was not summoned in combat.

How to Evolve Gloom into Vileplume in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen

Obtain a Leaf Stone

Vileplume is the third and final evolution chain of Oddish. Instead of leveling further, Gloom needs to be exposed to a Leaf Stone to evolve. Players can either obtain a Leaf Stone by purchasing it at the Evolution Stone Shop at Celadon City or by grabbing it from the Safari Zone at Fuchsia City.

The Safari Zone is an iconic location in the early Pokemon games. Here are all the Pokemon you can find in it in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen.

The Evolution Stone Shop is located on the fourth floor of the Celadon Department Store, and each stone costs 2,100 Poke Dollars. Celadon City is also reachable for the first time by taking the Underground Path from Route 8 to Route 7.

Another method for acquiring Leaf Stones is through pickup. Enter the Safari Zone outside Fuchsia City and get stones in the different areas. The first Leaf Stone is found on a small island in the middle of the Center Area, and it requires a Surf HM move to reach it. Meanwhile, the second and last Leaf Stone is obtainable on the plateau southwest of the rest house in Area 1.
