In Pokemon Champions, getting new team members is a must if you want to climb the Ranks quickly. You need at least a full team of 6 Pokemon to participate in Single and Double battles, but the problem is: Which Pokemon should you recruit first?
To save trainers a lot of time, we've put up a priority recruitment list to fight against the RNG in daily drafts, and to make sure you get the top meta picks every time you draft from the Regular Roster. Learn everything about the current Roster, which Pokemon are available and which ones to prioritize with this guide.
Which Pokemon Should I Recruit First in Pokemon Champions?
In Pokemon Champions, players have limited chances to recruit Pokemon from a daily draft through the Recruitment Ranch. These drafts are pulled from the Regular Roster (Regulations M-A) and will be totally randomized. Each time players use the Recruit feature, 10 Random Pokemon will be pulled from the roster, so players can only pick one each day (unless they use Quick Tickets or Victory Points to accelerate the process).
To know which Pokemon you should prioritize, take a look at this Tier List below, which ranks the top Pokemon (From S to C Tier) according to their Meta potential, abilities, and current win rate in Single or Double Battles.
How to read this table: From Left To Right -
Tier (General combat prowess, Meta utility, Strength of Mega Evolution, and Movepool.
Strong in Singles means this Pokemon is optimized for those types of battles. For example, Floette (Eternal Flower) is one of the top performers in single battles, with a win rate of over 75%.
Strong in Duos means that this Pokemon thrives by cooperating with others. For example, Meowstic is an excellent Trick Room and Barrier deployer, but it only thrives in Duo battles. As a Single Pokemon, even with its Mega Evolution, it is overpowered by almost all the roster. Then, players can find Pokemon that are useful in both Singles and Duos. Players should prioritize those if they want to try both combat modes.

Taking into consideration that the mentioned Pokemon will appear in random drafts (except Eternal Flower Floette, which needs to be transferred from Pokemon Home), players might want to prioritize those that are adjusted to their playstyle the best.
S-Tier Pokemon are awesome in terms of power and viability, but it is also true that limiting your picks to only a few Meta Pokemon can hurt your team building, so it is highly recommended that players try a few of the A-Tier and B-Tier list, especially in Duos, since some Pokemon reveal their true potential in Duo Battles.
A clear example of this is Meowstic, since its overall combat potential, even when Mega Evolved, is close to zero. But, a support Meowstic with Prankster and Light Screen/Reflect pairs incredibly well with powerful sweepers like Garchomp or Dragonite (Drampa too), since it can deploy barriers with high-priority and safeguard its teammate while it builds up with Dragon Dance.
GameRant Quiz
Other Pokemon like Greninja and Hippowdon are incredibly powerful in Single battles. But, in the case of Greninja, it has a Mega Evolution, and it can quickly become S-Tier+ depending on the opponent it has on the other side of the arena. Hippowdon will remain strong through and through, despite not having Mega, and that makes it a solid option to have in the same team as another strong Pokemon that shines best when Mega-evolved, like Charizard, Lucario, or even Tyranitar.
