In Patch 0.5 “Return of the Ancients” league for Path of Exile 2, GGG introduced an in-game price checker to the game that allows players to instantly check the going currency for any item they own without having to go through any third-party websites or manually putting in the values in the in-game market browser themselves.
How to Use In-Game Build Planner in Path of Exile 2
The Path of Exile 2 Build Planner allows players to follow community-made build guides using an in-game overlay system.
How to Price Check Items in Path of Exile 2
Shift + Alt + Left-Click
In Path of Exile 2, you can price check an item by holding Shift + Alt and Left-Clicking on the item in question while you are in a town or a Hideout.
You will not be able to price check any item while you’re out mapping in the endgame or progressing through the campaign maps.
How Does Price Checking Work in PoE 2?
When you price check an item, the game will open the Market Panel with modifiers based on the item you selected already applied to the search, showing you all currently listed items on the trade market from other players that have similar stats to your item.
This will give you an accurate estimate of how much your item is worth and how you should price it if you want to put it up for sale. If you want to get your item to sell quickly, listing it for slightly below the market price will ensure it shows up at the very top of the results when someone searches for it. Cheaper items naturally sell faster.
However, if you have something really valuable to sell, like a Mageblood or an Astramentis, you’ll want to price them as competitively as possible. Valuable items never have a shortage of buyers.
Items linked in chat cannot be price checked; only those owned by you are eligible.
What to Do if Price Checking Doesn’t Work in PoE 2?
If you’re not seeing any results show up in the market browser when you trigger a price check for an item, it’s because there is no other item on the market that matches your item’s modifiers. This can happen for two reasons:
- Your item has a lot of extra modifiers, and the search parameters are narrow as a result. Uncheck the check boxes next to some of the modifiers that seem useless and trigger the search again to widen the net, so to speak.
- The item you’re price checking is very rare, and not a single person has found it and put it up for sale. This usually only occurs during early League starts when the economy is fresh and few people have had a chance to explore the endgame.
A third possibilty is that the item you're checking is just too trash to be even worth putting up for sale. Early campaign drops are all like that, and if you price check them, there is a good chance you won't find a single one in the market.
