Paralives makes modding surprisingly simple compared to most life simulation games. Since the game already supports Steam Workshop integration, you can install custom content, gameplay tweaks, furniture packs, interactions, and even entire households in just a few clicks.
The best part is that everything is managed directly through the in-game Mods menu, so you don’t need to manually move files around or deal with complicated installation steps to start using custom content in Paralives.

How to Install Mods in Paralives
To start installing mods, open Paralives and head to the Mods section from the main menu. From there, you can open the Steam Workshop directly through the game and browse through all kinds of community creations.
When you find a mod you like, simply click the green plus icon to subscribe to it. Steam will automatically begin downloading the mod, and Paralives will add it to your game once the installation is complete.
After that, head back into the Mods menu and open the My Mods tab. You’ll see all of your installed mods listed there and ready to use.
It’s a good idea to restart Paralives after installing large mods. Some gameplay changes may not appear correctly until the game reloads.
Create Your Own Mods
Paralives also gives players tools to create their own mods directly inside the game. In the Mods menu, there’s a Create New Mod option that lets you start building custom content from scratch.
Inside the Edit This Mod settings, you can adjust gameplay systems and experiment with different mechanics. You can tweak things like world settings, pregnancies, and other simulation features to create a completely different experience.
Once your mod is finished, you can upload it straight to the Steam Workshop and share it with other players.
How to Enable and Disable Mods in Paralives
If you ever want to test different mods or temporarily turn one off, Paralives lets you disable them without deleting anything.
Open the Mods menu and go to My Mods. Hover over the installed mod you want to disable and click the blue toggle button on the left side. This switches the mod off while keeping it installed on your computer. You can enable it again anytime by pressing the toggle once more.
This feature is especially useful when troubleshooting crashes or checking whether two mods conflict with each other.
Before disabling major gameplay mods, it’s recommended to back up your save file. Certain mods can affect relationships, careers, pregnancies, or world settings, and removing them mid-save can cause problems.
How to Delete Mods in Paralives
Deleting mods permanently is just as easy. Open the Mods tab, head into My Mods, and find the mod you no longer want installed.
Click the white trash can icon near the top right corner of the mod entry, and Paralives will delete it from your game files. If you change your mind later, you can always reinstall it from the Steam Workshop.
