The collaboration between One Piece and the NBA continues, with tons of new apparel and merch scheduled to release this Fall. Eiichiro Oda's beloved manga series first crossed over with the National Basketball Association in early 2025, when the Los Angeles Lakers hosted an official One Piece crossover night, complete with limited edition figures, plushies, and more. Given the first crossover's incredible success, it's no surprise that Luffy and the Straw Hats are set to appear in a more grandiose way this time around, with several major basketball teams getting in on the craze.
Last November, Bandai launched the One Piece x NBA Master Stars merch collection, which was packed with basketball-themed figures and unique apparel themed after some of the association's biggest names. Fans could snag everything from Tony Tony Chopper plush toys to figures showcasing a jersey-clad Luffy gearing up for some major dunkage. For many, the crossover between a major sporting league and a manga property seemed like a stretch, but fan response has been overwhelming, leading to the relationship's continued growth and even more exciting items to snag.

The One Piece x NBA Collab Reveals New Shirts, Acrylic Stands, Tote Bag, and More
Premium Bandai has revealed a slew of One Piece NBA items, including themed shirts, acrylic stands, and a tote bag, all of which will be released in September 2026. Preorders are now open until July 12, with the fresh merchandise already causing a stir on social media. Along with a group T-shirt, several popular One Piece characters feature on their own shirt and represent a specific team: Luffy (Los Angeles Lakers), Sabo (Memphis Grizzlies), Trafalgar Law (Golden State Warriors), Roronoa Zoro (Boston Celtics), Shanks (Chicago Bulls), and Portugas D. Ace (New York Knicks). Each shirt costs ¥6,600 (around $41). Additionally, the same designs are available on the newly revealed acrylic stands, which will cost ¥2,200 (about $14) each. The tote bag, featuring special illustrations for the collab, will set fans back ¥3,850 (around $24).
One Piece fans have plenty to celebrate in 2026, with the recent April start of the Elbaph Arc kickstarting a new era of the anime adaptation. This came after the series saw a three-month hiatus, with the One Piece anime now adopting a two split cours annual schedule. A maximum of 26 episodes will air each year going forward, marking a major shift from the continuous year-round schedule that has been the norm since the show start in 1999.
Cosm Los Angeles will host the debut North American One Piece Fest from August 25–26, 2026, offering US fans a chance to get in on the fun without buying a plane ticket to Japan. Organized by Toei Animation, the two-day convention aims to attract upwards of 7,000 visitors by offering unique panels, limited-edition merchandise, and an interactive "Elbaph Experience." The event's entertainment lineup includes a live performance by Hiroshi Kitadani, the original singer of the show's legendary theme song "We Are!," with organizers teasing an additional surprise guest to be announced in the future.
