One Piece: 7 Best Elemental Devil Fruits That Aren’t Logias, Ranked

Logias were once the best Devil Fruit subclass, especially during One Piece’s pre-timeskip era, due to Haki not being as prevalent at the time. After the timeskip, however, Logia lost their main appeal, but they still hold on to their powerful elemental powers. While Logias are the most specialized in their respective elements, there are other great One Piece Devil Fruits that offer elemental powers and aren’t Logia, and among them, some hold legendary powers that grant elemental manipulation on a scale far greater than their Logia counterparts.

7 Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami

Yamato is the child of Kaido who was revealed during Onigashima, and wields tremendous strength, primarily thanks to incredibly strong Haki of all three types. But, Yamato also has a very powerful Devil Fruit power, called the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami. This Mythical Zoan allows Yamato to turn into the wolf deity of Wano. This wolf is blessed with the tremendous resilience and healing factor of Zoans, but it also comes with its own elemental powers.

Yamato’s wolf fruit specializes in ice manipulation, and they are one of the best ice users in One Piece. They have showcased their powers in the confrontation against Kaido, which saw the use of abilities like Namuji Hyoga and Himorogiri.

6 Bakotsu Fruit

• Elemental Power: Ice

The Five Elders were first revealed in One Piece Chapter 233. This group would remain a mystery for decades until Oda finally let them loose on Egghead in Chapter 1110. In this chapter, it was revealed that each Elder possesses an incredible Yokai ability. It’s unclear whether powers stem from Devil Fruits, but they act like Mythical Zoans nevertheless. Out of these Yokai, Nusjuro’s Bakotsu definitely stood out and its menacing design and aura immediately made him a fan favorite.

With that being said, Nusjuro’s Bakotsu has showcased incredible ice powers. His slashes don’t necessarily cut, and they can be incorporated with the power to freeze enemies from the inside. Undoubtedly, Nusjuro has only showcased a glimpse of what he can do with this element.

5 Soru Soru no Mi

• Elemental Power: Fire, Lightning

Just like the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, the Soru Soru no Mi was also significant in the Yonko Saga of One Piece. Its user is Charlotte Linlin, also known as Yonko Big Mom. This Devil Fruit is of the Paramecia type, and it’s one of the most versatile fruits in the whole series. With this fruit in her possession, Big Mom gets soul control. She can take other people’s souls, or even use her own to increase in power or imbue it into inanimate objects or natural elements.

This ability allows her to gain superior elemental control, making her one of the best in the whole series. Technically, Big Mom could unlock any type of elemental power that exists, but from what we have seen in the series, she has made use of fire and lightning elemental powers through her homies Prometheus, Hera, and Zeus. Big Mom specifically used Hera to cause large-scale damage comparable to and even surpassing the Goro Goro no Mi with techniques like Tenjin and Fulgora.

4 Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu

• Type: Mythical Zoan
• Elemental Power: Fire, Lightning, Wind

The Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu is a Devil Fruit that has especially stood out in the Yonko Saga of One Piece. This Devil Fruit is in the possession of the strongest creature, Kaido. Momonosuke also has this Devil Fruit, but the artificial version. This Mythical Zoan allows its user to turn into an eastern dragon with impenetrable defenses and incredible strength.

This Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu also offers incredible elemental control. For one, Kaido can generate flame clouds to walk on. It has a mind of its own as a Devil Fruit user since it has consumed a Mythical Zoan fruit called Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr. With this consciousness and the power to act independently, Ragnir has proven to be a powerful fighter who could even rival a Yonko.

Thanks to the Ratatoskr ability, Ragnir possesses the greatest ice usage of all characters in One Piece, trumping even the likes of Kuzan. Anyone Ragnir freezes is frozen perpetually and cannot be freed even by characters as strong as Nerona Imu. In a sense, Ragnir can generate unmeltable ice and one-shot most characters. Ragnir’s ice elemental powers remain unrivaled.

2 Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr

• Elemental Power: Lightning

The Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr is a Devil Fruit recently introduced in One Piece’s Elbaf arc. Previously, it was in the possession of the War God, who lived during Joy Boy’s era. Today, however, it’s with the Accursed Prince of the War Land, Loki. Loki has yet to showcase the full power of this Mythical Zoan, but it’s already easily one of the strongest Devil Fruits around.

This fruit allows Loki to turn into a western dragon, and it grants him a larger body, as well as lightning elemental manipulation. Loki has the most overpowered lightning abilities in the series, superior to even Enel’s. His simple attacks like Thorheim are so powerful that they can easily erase small islands from existence effortlessly.

1 Akuma no Mi

• Elemental Power: Fire

Imu is the secret Sovereign of the World, and he finally made his long-awaited descent in Chapter 1179 of the Elbaf arc of One Piece. Imu’s powers were revealed to stem from a mysterious fruit labeled the Akuma no Mi. It’s unclear what category this fruit fits in, but it’s definitely not a Logia, at the very least.

With the Akuma no Mi, Imu has showcased the power to control a specific type of element — Black Fire. Black Fire is Imu’s manifestation of Maki or Omen, and it can cause heavy damage as seen when it was used on Zoro and Sanji. This black fire can also be used defensively, or even to power up allies. Imu might have even more elemental abilities under his belt, but for now, these black flames reign supreme as the strongest fire in the story.
