New Gen Anime Just As Good As Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen, widely believed to be one of the best ongoing anime, is based on Gege Akutami's manga of the same name. The series shot to fame after the first season of the anime aired in 2019. Fans instantly fell in love with the quality of the animation and the story.

The anime's success also affected the manga's popularity and helped it become one of the best-selling manga of all time. While Jujutsu Kaisen is an amazing anime, there are some other new-generation titles that offer just as good an experience.

8 My Hero Academia

• Main Protagonist: Midoriya Izuku

My Hero Academia has been responsible for increasing the popularity of superheroes among anime fans. The story is excellent, the characters are phenomenal, and above all, it has one of the better endings among modern-day shonen anime.

My Hero Academia follows Midoriya Izuku, a young boy with no Quirk. Despite the lack of a Quirk, Midoriya is intent on becoming a pro-hero like his idol, All-Might. On a fateful day, his life changes for the better, and he ends up receiving the one thing that he desires.

7 Black Clover

• Main Protagonist: Asta

Many people have accused Black Clover of "stealing" ideas from Naruto, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The series just borrows one or two things from Naruto, but in the same way that any shonen series would. Black Clover also has a unique and extremely appealing power system.

At the center of Black Clover's story is Asta, an orphan who dreams of becoming the Wizard King. However, there is one problem–Asta has zero talent when it comes to magic.

6 Demon Slayer

• Main Protagonist: Kamado Tanjiro

Demon Slayer is the only new-generation anime that can actually compete with the biggest series of all time, like Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball. The series has sold more than 200 million copies, which is only bettered by a handful of other titles.

Demon Slayer is set in a world where demons walk amongst humans, hunting them for food. Away from all the hustle and bustle, Tanjiro lives with his family inside a forest. Everything was going well for them until one day, a demon almost killed Tanjiro's entire family. The only survivor is his young sister, but she is turned into a demon. With no choice, Tanjiro grabs his sister and sets out to find a cure.

5 Solo Leveling

• Main Protagonist: Sung Jinwoo

If there is any other new-generation anime that comes close to Jujutsu Kaisen's level of action, it's Solo Leveling. A-1 Pictures has produced a masterpiece that is filled with amazing action sequences that would make any person's jaw drop.

Solo Leveling tells the story of Sung Jinwoo, whose entire life changes after the Double Dungeon Incident. Jinwoo becomes a Hunter with limitless potential, and soon, hiding his identity becomes his biggest challenge.

4 Chainsaw Man

• Main Protagonist: Denji

Tatsuki Fujimoto is widely regarded as a modern-day genius. He has produced works like Goodbye Eri, Look Back, and, of course, Chainsaw Man. Out of all his projects, the story about a devil and a boy has gained the most traction.

Chainsaw Man covers the life of Denji, a boy who is down on his luck, and his only companion is a devil named Pochita. After being set up, Denji is left on the verge of death. That's when Pochita intervenes and saves him. With Pochita's help, Denji comes back to life, and this time, he is armed with new powers.

3 Dandadan

• Main Protagonists: Ayase Momo and Okarun

Dandadan has mesmerized viewers with its combination of action and comedy. The series has some incredible fights, and at the same time, the story is coherent, and it is not sidelined in favor of action. Another reason for the series' success is the dual protagonists and how well they are handled by the author.

Dandadan is set in a world where both Yokai and extraterrestrials exist, and they often interfere with humans. At the center of attention are Momo Ayase and Okarun, both of whom are strong believers in the supernatural. One day, they try to explore a mysterious location, which leads them to a major rabbit hole.

2 Oshi no Ko

Only a handful of new-gen anime can do drama as well as Oshi no Ko. Based on Aka Akasaka's manga, the series has become somewhat of a trendsetter with its character designs and unique story.

Oshi no Ko follows the story of two people who are reborn as the children of famous idol Ai Kano. However, their life takes a dark turn, and they end up chasing the killer responsible for the murder of a person who was very close to them.

1 Sakamoto Days

• Main Protagonist: Sakamoto Taro

When the anime adaptation of Sakamoto Days was released, it was subject to immense criticism from viewers. But J.C. Staff slowly proved that it would do the series justice.

Sakamoto Days follows the life of a retired assassin, Sakamoto Taro. While he was still active, everyone feared him. One would expect him to lead a peaceful life after retirement, but a lot of people were unhappy with his decision. So, they began sending assassins after Sakamoto in an attempt to end his life.
