In NBA 2K26 MyCareer, the draft can be random and based on how well MP performs in Europe. However, by selecting teams to work out with in the lead-up to the draft, or by selecting certain dialogue options, players can choose which team they play for in some cases, or have a much better shot at being drafted by them.

For those jumping into MyCareer as a Point Guard, it's best to look for teams that don't already have star Point Guards. This will give MP a better chance of starting for the team. It can also be good to look for teams with old Point Guards who might retire soon. When finding the best teams for Point Guards in NBA 2K26's MyCareer, it's also good to look for good link-up players, such as bigs for pick-and-rolls, or sharpshooters to pick out in the corner.

For those who opt to lead the team as a Point Guards, this guide has been updated to include more ideal teams. These teams include those with old or injured-plagued Point Guards or no stars in the position at all. Some teams are also appealing due to the young prospects in other positions.

Dallas Mavericks

Replace An Aging, Injured Kyrie Irving & Rise Alongside Cooper Flagg

• Link up players: Cooper Flagg & Derick Lively

The Dallas Mavericks have been plagued with injuries and other setbacks over the last year, but they also have one of the most exciting young prospects in Cooper Flagg. Depending on when Kyrie Irving decides to retire in-game and how long he can remain injury-free, players might find it difficult to start at first, but the spot is certainly free in the long run. Your MyPlayer and Flagg can then form a partnership to rival the Spurs with Wembanyama.

Miami Heat

Complement A Team Full Of Great Bigs

• Link up players: Bam Adebeyo & Tyler Herro

Many players will have grown up watching the Miami Heat dominate with LeBron James, Dwane Wade, and Chris Bosh. With one of the best defensive players in the league, Bam Adebeyo and other standouts, such as Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr. all it would take is a strong Point Guard to help the Heat return to their former glory. All the current Heat Point Guards are also rated below 80, and none of them are young. With the lineup having lots of tenacity, this could be the perfect destination for defensive guards to keep the perimeter in check.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have the lowest-rated Point Guards in the league, although one of the Shooting Guards will likely start in the position. Nevertheless, there is ample opportunity for an out-and-out Point Guard to run the show in Brooklyn and become a shining light for the team that lacks a true star. This is very much a team building for the future, which can be perfect for long careers and players who don't want to spend money on VC to become an instant star.

New Orleans Pelicans

No Star Point Guard & Try To Help Zion Live Up To His Potential

The New Orleans Pelicans have depth in the Point Guard position, but no true stars to speak of in the backcourt, meaning players have a clear path to the starting lineup within the first few seasons. Perhaps they can finally help Zion Williamson live up to his potential and guide the Pelicans to some semblance of success.

Toronto Raptors

Compete With Quickley For The Point Guard Spot

• Link up players: Barnes, Ingram, & Barrett

The Toronto Raptors have a young team full of talent, but potentially need a star Point Guard to take them back to the highs of 2019. Players will have to compete with Immanuel Quickley for starting minutes, but at 81-rated, this can be achieved. Scottie Barnes will be an exciting forward to link up with, especially after a few more years of experience.

Houston Rockets

Help Durant Go For A Third Ring

While players may struggle to crack into the Houston Rockets' starting lineup, Fred VanVleet isn't a star player, nor is he getting any younger. More importantly, players have the opportunity to play alongside Kevin Durant, and with the Rockets doing well in the regular season last year, he could help them become title contenders. Amen Thompson is another rising star to link up with.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Complete The Timberwolves Team & Play Alongside Anthony Edwards

The Timberwolves have a strong team and have made it to the last two Western Conference finals, but Point Guard is their weakest position. Players can easily make the starting lineup with enough VC invested and play alongside Anthony Edwards in the backcourt. There would certainly be lots of potential for flashy passes between the two.

Washington Wizards

Take Over From C.J. McCollum & Grow Alongside Alex Sarr

The Washington Wizards don't exactly have the strongest of squads, and while their Point Guard, C.J. McCollum, is arguably their best player, he is also 33. This allows MyCareer Point Guards to go in and become the star of this team. Hopefully, they can develop a partnership with bigman, Alex Sarr, the 2nd pick in the 2024 draft.

Orlando Magic

Compete With Other Young Guards To Play Alongside Exciting Forwards

Orlando Magic have decent Point Guards, but the team's star players are the young and exciting forwards, Paulo Banchero and Moritz Wagner. Players can fight for game time as a guard and be a part of a team on the verge of success. While Jalen Suggs might be hard to displace in the first few seasons, he is not unsurpassable at 82 rated.

Sacramento Kings

Link Up With Sabonis & A Strong Team Lacking A Star Point Guard

• Link up players: Sabonis, LaVine, DeRozan

The Sacramento Kings have Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis as potential starting Point Guards, but after De'Aaron Fox left for San Antonio, they lack a star in the position. With a fairly strong and experienced team, including Damontas Sabonis, Zach LeVine, and DeMar DeRozan, MP as a Point Guard could help the team secure playoffs in the 2025/2026 season, and possibly compete in the stacked Western Conference of the NBA.
