Naruto is filled with many interesting and mind-blowing concepts. Most of them have been explained in great detail. But there are still some important powers that are still a mystery to this very day. Naruto has already ended, which effectively put an end to the hopes of these mysterious powers being explored. Once the sequel started, the lost hope was rekindled. Sadly, neither Kishimoto nor Ikemoto has shown any intention of exploring the mysterious powers, and it's unlikely to change anytime soon.

8 Hashirama's Wood Style Powers

• One Of The Strongest Kekkei Genkai

Hashirama was the strongest shinobi of his time. In fact, he was called the "God of Shinobi." During his rule, the Hidden Leaf prospered, and the village was peaceful. His Wood Release was the main reason behind the village's success. The Wood Release was so powerful that it allowed Hashirama to take down armies on his own. Furthermore, he could even subdue tailed beasts. Unfortunately, the power was never explored extensively. All the subsequent users couldn't even hold a candle to Hashirama, and they seemed like cheap knockoffs.

7 Snake Sage Mode

• One The Most Versatile Power In Series

The Toad Sage Mode was first introduced when Jiraiya fought against Pain, and later during Naruto's training it was fully explained. However, the explanation only covered the Toad Sage Mode, and the other ones were swept under the rug. Due to this reason, the Snake Sage Mode and Hashirama's Sage Mode were never fully covered in full detail. To this day, fans don't know what kind of Sage Mode Hashirama had and how he obtained it. It's truly a shame that fans will never get to learn the truth.

It has such great potential, but ultimately it turned out to be nothing but a massive letdown.

Immortality is a concept that was first introduced through Hidan. The mercenary was a believer in Jashin and part of his cult. Hidan would offer sacrifices to Jashin, who in exchange granted him immortality. Unfortunately, Kishimoto never introduced another character who was linked to the cult of Jashin, which feels like a major missed opportunity. It would have been interesting to learn more about Jashin and how exactly he granted immortality.

The Tenseigan was introduced in Naruto: The Last. The first user of the Dojutsu was Hamura Otsutsuki, who used its power to stop his mother. The Tenseigan grants its user the ability to levitate, as well as access to Truth Seeking Balls. The user can also tap into the Tenseigan Chakra Mode. Sadly, Hamura and Toneri are the only known users of the Tenseigan, which left behind a lot of questions. Kishimoto had the perfect opportunity to fix this in Boruto, but he decided to abandon the idea altogether.

There are countless fan theories that suggest Madara's Mangekyou Sharingan enabled him to manipulate time. However, fans never got a concrete answer from the author.

2 Jugo’s Clan Power

Jugo was a rogue ninja who joined Sasuke's team. He has a special ability that allows him to absorb nature energy without forming any hand seals. This Kekkei Genkai also gives him the power to transform into a monster-like being. With its help, Jugo can regenerate and heal others as well. Like the other entries on the list, Jugo Clan's Kekkei Genkai was not explored in the story.

1 Rock Lee's Drunken Fist

• One Of The Most Unique Abilities

Rock Lee is a fan-favorite character who became popular due to his unique style of fighting. In the first half of the story, Rock Lee could give Naruto, Sasuke, or any other Genin a run for their money. One of his standout moments came during the fight against Kimimaro, who pushed him to his limits. Since Kimimaro was so superior to Lee in terms of strength, the latter had to come up with a unique fighting style, and it was none other than the Drunken Fist. Despite its uniqueness, this style never featured in the story prominently.
