There are over 80 monsters in Monster Hunter Stories 3, and the vast majority of them can be hatched as playable Monsties for players. Naturally, these monsters are scattered throughout the game's major regions, so you'll have to progress through the story if you want to encounter all of them. You'll need Monstie Eggs in MHS3 to get playable versions of monsters, and in this guide, we'll be covering everything we've just mentioned.
How to Get a Monster with Ground Dive in Monster Hunter Stories 3
Dive into the ground and unlock new areas by finding a Canyne in Monster Hunter Stories 3.
MHS3 Monstie Eggs & Dens, Explained
You get all of your playable Monsties by hatching Monstie Eggs in MHS3, and you can get them by entering Monster Dens. The latter appears as cave entrances, both on the world and on your map.
Monster Dens have a chance to contain several monster nests, and each nest contains a clutch of random eggs. The eggs you find in nests differ according to these conditions:
- Egg variety depends on the monsters present in the region.
- Forcing a monster to retreat creates a special den nearby. In this den, you can only find eggs of the monster that retreated.
Egg Rarities
Eggs are divided into three rarities:
- Fairly Potent
- Very Potent
- Highly Potent
Higher-rarity monsters start with more genes and gene slots unlocked, but overall, there's not much of a difference between eggs. You can always level up your Monstie to unlock gene slots, and you can use the Rite of Channeling to move skills from one Monstie to another.
