Kratos gets his own side-scrolling Metroidvania with God of War: Sons of Sparta. This release, in conjunction from Mega Cat Studios and Santa Monica Studios, follows the battle-hardened Spartan at the very beginning of his journey. Told through the reflections of the future God Slayer himself, Sons of Sparta follows Kratos during his teen years, as he attempts to move up in the ranks of the Agoge and join the Vanguard Circle. He and his brother Deimos embark on a journey through Laconia to uncover the mystery surrounding the disappearance of their brother-in-arms, Vasilis.
The map in God of War: Sons of Sparta is sprawling and teeming with hidden areas and collectibles. Our interactive map shows all of the camp locations, temples, collectibles, upgrade materials, and more that players will need to complete their Spartan mission. Players can easily toggle the categories on and off to make it easier to find specific things.

How Long Does God Of War: Sons Of Sparta Take To Beat?
Making it through Laconia in God of War: Sons of Sparta can be complicated due to the myriad of puzzles and challenges spread across the map. At the start, players should focus primarily on following the story and progressing through each area. Although there are many things to see and areas to explore, many things are "gated" behind the need for upgrades or new traversal tools. This is commonplace in many Metroidvania releases but feels even more-so for certain spots in Sons of Sparta. There are many items and collectibles that cannot be interacted with or collected and certain things that are completely hidden from view until players have the appropriate upgrade for their Lycurgus Bust.
Because of this, it's best to progress through the story and enjoy the adventure for what it is rather than focus on 100 percent completion. Thankfully, players will be free to explore the entirety of Laconia, including any areas they may have missed, once they finish the main storyline. There are no areas that become "locked out" or inaccessible, so players can focus entirely on the main mission from the get-go.
The story itself should take players approximately 10 to 15 hours to complete for most, with 100 percent completion taking around 20 hours or more on average.
