Although My Hero Academia has been a popular force in the manga and anime worlds, the ending of the manga was very polarizing among fans. Deku's loss of his quirk, One for All, disappointed many viewers, and they felt like Deku was no longer able to live his dream of being a hero. Many felt the ending was incredibly underwhelming and could have expressed a deeper meaning.

My Hero Academia, despite its status as a highly influential manga, just could not satisfy readers with its ending. Many wanted more action, as well as a proper send-off for other characters outside Deku. Due to this, there are quite a few classic manga that have had a much better ending than My Hero Academia, which gave readers a satisfying finale.

Naruto

Naruto's Dream Realized

In Naruto's final chapter, not only does Naruto Uzumaki achieve his dream of becoming Hokage, he is able to resolve his feeling of loneliness and is respected by the whole village. Along with this, Naruto and Sasuke have a final battle that resolves the opposing philosophies that they both had for many years: isolation versus connection. Naruto is able to get Sasuke to realize the importance of friendship and having support around him.

Though most of the finale of Naruto focuses on Naruto and Sasuke, a lot of the side characters get closure, as well. Readers were able to see a glimpse into each character's future, such as who they married, where they are in terms of their ninja training, and more. Though a lot of these characters are still present in Boruto, their stories were still properly wrapped up in Naruto, unlike My Hero Academia, which skipped over a lot of characters.

Tokyo Ghoul

Ken's Resolution

At the end of Tokyo Ghoul, Ken Kaneki is able to accept his identity of being half-human and half-ghoul, something he struggled with for a majority of the manga. With this resolution, Ken is able to become a driving force that brings humans and ghouls closer together, allowing them to live in the same world peacefully.

25 Best Anime To Watch If You Enjoyed Death Note

Death Note is one of the most popular anime ever, with few equals. These series, however, have similar themes fans will enjoy.

The ending of Tokyo Ghoul isn't purely positive, however, as the final conflict leads to a lot of loss and suffering. Despite this, however, it is worth it for the peace that comes afterward. The finale of Tokyo Ghoul also gives readers a clear glimpse into a multitude of characters' futures, outside just Ken. My Hero Academia didn't give readers enough content to leave them satisfied.

Death Note

Justice vs. Corruption

Despite Light Yagami's original plan of only using the Death Note to rid the world of serious criminals, his downfall is accurate to the whole premise of Death Note. In the final chapters, Light Yagami essentially becomes what he was trying to fight, and has his name written down in the Death Note, and dies soon afterward. Not all manga need to have a happy ending in order to be considered the perfect finale.

Light Yagami's path became the opposite of his original intentions, so it only made sense that he would have to die as well due to his corruption. He felt he had absolute power, which led to an intense arrogance. This finale was much more engaging and realistic than My Hero Academia's finale, and stuck to the story's original premise.

Destruction of Demons

From the very beginning of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro Kamado's main goals were to defeat demons and save his sister. In the final chapters of the manga, he is able to finally fulfill these tasks, with Muzan Kibutsuji being destroyed, and demons are no longer able to flourish. This ending is one of complete resolution that felt satisfying to many readers.

Similar to Tokyo Ghoul, the happy ending of Demon Slayer can only be achieved through a bit of suffering first. A few major characters die, and there are many lasting consequences of the last battle. However, compared to My Hero Academia, the ending is complete and satisfying, and is concise, leaving no open ends.

Assassination Classroom

Loss of Loved Ones

At the very beginning of Assassination Classroom, the students are told that they must kill their teacher, Korosensei. The main premise for the story is officially completed in the finale, with the students having to do it in the end. The finale is emotional and painful, as the students have formed a deep bond with Korosensei, and he makes his final roll-call of the students before they must meet the deadline.

This ending dives deep into the reality of having to accept that some things cannot go the way people want. Though the students attempt to find a way to save Korosensei, they must accept that there is nothing else they can do, and they must let go of someone they love, but still live on. It gives a much more emotional and memorable conclusion than My Hero Academia.

Fullmetal Alchemist

A Necessary Sacrifice

At the beginning of Fullmetal Alchemist, Edward and Alphonse Elric both lose aspects of their bodies due to a failed alchemy attempt. Throughout the story, they set out on a quest to find the Philosopher's Stone to restore their bodies, which they finally achieve in the finale. Alphonse is able to have his body restored after Edward sacrifices his alchemy abilities. It shows how they have built up their brotherhood to the point that either is willing to sacrifice something to help each other out.

Along with this, every major plot point is addressed, including the reality of alchemy and its consequences, Father's plan, and more. The ending for Fullmetal Alchemist is much more satisfying than My Hero Academia, as everyone's arcs are properly wrapped up, and readers get to see where all the main characters end up in their futures.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the "One-For-All" quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
