A new LEGO Pokemon set has been leaked online, and this one will feature a battle between Charizard and Jolteon. Pokemon has been around since 1996, and the franchise is arguably more popular than ever. The original 151 introduced in Pokemon Red and Green remain fan favorites, and Charizard and Jolteon are no exception. The two have received a wealth of merchandise over the years, including cards, apparel, Funko Pops, and more.
LEGO began offering building sets based on the Pokemon brand at the start of 2026. So far, only a handful have been released, but it seems the company has ambitious plans for the future. Multiple Pokemon LEGO sets have leaked online, featuring iconic characters such as Charmander, Gengar, Cubone, Jigglypuff, and Geodude. These sets will apparently see release on August 1, but LEGO has yet to make any kind of official announcement.

Charizard vs. Jolteon: The Ultimate Battle
Images of a Pokemon LEGO set have leaked on social media, depicting a battle between the Electric-type Jolteon and the Fire/Flying-type Charizard. LEGO Smart Bricks debuted earlier this year, and have been integrated into multiple sets since. The Charizard vs. Jolteon set will include two Smart Bricks, which will react to how the user plays with the included LEGO builds. In addition to the Pokemon themselves, the set will include a small build of a Poke Ball.
GameRant Quiz
While this set is being billed as "the ultimate battle," a fight between Charizard and Jolteon would be fairly lopsided, as Jolteon's Electric-type gives it a distinct advantage over any Flying-type Pokemon, including Charizard. While Charizard can learn Ground-type moves that could help it prevail, it's not an ideal match-up. It's also an unusual combination for a LEGO set, as these aren't two Pokemon typically matched up against one another; Charizard against Venusaur or Blastoise would have made a little more sense. However, LEGO already has a set featuring the Kanto starter final evolutions. Offering Charizard in a cheaper set with another popular Pokemon does make some degree of sense.
Thus far, Smart Bricks have been a major source of controversy among LEGO fans. Smart Bricks make LEGO sets costlier, and that's frustrating for collectors that have no interest in having the extra features. There are lots of fans and collectors that just want to build LEGO versions of their favorite Pokemon. LEGO sets can be expensive enough without adding anything extra, so incorporating expensive new technology risks alienating fans and collectors that have less money to spend.

With all of these leaks lately, it will be interesting to see when LEGO decides to officially unveil these new Pokemon sets. 2026 has quickly proven to be a big year for the brand, which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary. As a result, there's no shortage of merchandise to purchase in stores and online. These LEGO sets will add to an already expensive year for fans of the franchise, but things could certainly be worse. There was a time when Pokemon LEGO sets didn't even exist, but those days are in the past.
