Missed collectibles during a mission in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight? Here’s how to unlock the replay feature and revisit story areas.

When Do You Unlock the Batcave?

You unlock the Batcave at the beginning of Chapter 1 and the Workbench, which is used to perform Gadget upgrades, later in the chapter. The Batcave really opens up in Chapter 2. At that point, you unlock many of the hub’s major facilities, including a customizable area, the Garage, the Suit Vault, the Challenge Board, the Bat-Mite Shop, the Training Area, and the Batcomputer for mission replay.

The Batcomputer becomes available early in Chapter 2 and lets you replay completed missions. This is important for 100% completion, since mission-specific collectibles like Surfboards, Bonsai Trees, and Disco Balls can be missed during the first run.

For full instructions, see our guide on how to replay missions.

How to View Suits and Buy Vehicles in the Batcave

The Suit Vault lets you view outfits you’ve unlocked, while the Garage displays vehicles and lets you purchase them. You do not change suits directly through the Suit Vault. For more details on changing outfits, see our How to Unlock & Change Suits guide.

How Batcave Customization Works

The Batcave is filled with customizable areas, and you can spend Studs to unlock more of them. These areas give you opportunities to place trophies you've earned as well as props that are available by default and purchased from shops. You'll unlock a customizable area as part of a story mission at the beginning of Chapter 2, and you can add these optional areas later in the chapter with Studs:

Area

Stud Cost

Science Lab

100,000

Display Area

75,000

Clean Slate

100,000

See our Batcave Trophy Locations guide to unlock more trophies for customizable areas.

How Batcave Trophies Work

Some mission-specific collectibles unlock trophies that can be manually placed in the Batcave. For example, breaking all Surfboards, Bonsai Trees, or Disco Balls in the associated levels rewards props that can be used in the customizable areas. You'll complete an in-game tutorial that explains how to place props when you unlock the customizable area at the beginning of Chapter 2.

For more info about the mission collectibles that award trophies, see our Collectibles Guide & Locations.

You can also build a T-rex statue in the Batcave by finding all 50 Bat-Symbols.

Are There Collectibles in the Batcave?

Yes, the Batcave has 20 collectibles: 10 Minikits and 10 WayneTech Caches. You will need all of them for 100% completion, though some are locked behind Batcave expansions or later character unlocks.

For every location, see our guide to all Batcave Minikits and WayneTech Caches.

How the Challenge Board Works

The Challenge Board tracks optional gameplay challenges and lets you claim Stud rewards after completing them. These challenges are tied to specific actions, such as reaching a combat combo over 80, throwing an enemy into a dumpster, or defeating 100 enemies without losing health. Each claimed challenge reward also adds an item to the board. As you complete more challenges, the board gradually fills with a scene of Gotham.

For a full list, see our All Batcave Challenges guide. For one of the trickier challenges, check our Paranormal Investigator Challenge Guide.

What Does the Bat-Mite Shop Do?

The Bat-Mite Shop unlocks early in Chapter 2, and you can buy suits and props from it with Studs. Bat-Mite announces when new items are available in the shop, and you can use this Stud farming guide if you don't have enough money to buy something you want.
