In just two years, the series has around 4 million copies in circulation according to official Oricon numbers, showing immense growing popularity. As such, an anime adaptation was imminent for this breathtaking new show. Earlier today, Jump Press, one of the biggest Shonen Jump Events, officially announced in a livestream the anime adaptation for Takeru Hokazono’s Kagurabachi, and it is set to be released in 2027 as one of the most anticipated modern anime. Along with the official announcement of the release date, Jump Press also revealed key information about the staff, and the studio that's set to handle the adaptation.

After a long wait, we finally have the official release date for the Kagurabachi anime, and according to the latest Jump Press livestream held today, Kagurabachi anime is coming in April 2027. The exact date hasn't been revealed yet, but more information will be provided by Shueisha and Shonen Jump in due time. It has also been announced that the Kagurabachi anime adaptation will be handled by CyPic Studio, also known as CyGames Pictures. This animation studio is renowned for its amazing anime adaptation of series like Uma Musume, and The IdolM@ster Cinderella Girls, both of which are held in high regard as far as the adaptation is concerned. With Kagurabachi, CyPic Studio will be aiming to get its first hit anime release on a global scale.

To get all us fans hyped up for the anime adaptation of Kagurabachi, the official Jump Press stream also revealed a new Key Visual of Kagurabachi, featuring the main character Chihiro Rokuhira, who will be embarking on an epic journey of vengeance, full of mind-blowing swordfights. The key visual looks absolutely stunning, and if this is anything to go by, the anime is in safe hands.

On top of the key visual, Jump Press also officially unveiled a teaser trailer for the Kagurabachi anime, showcasing Chihiro wielding his famed blade and slicing through enemies at full force. Comparing this adaptation to the manga, the panels have been brought to life beautifully, showcasing intricate action and delivering beautiful exposition to the fighting style of the series. The composite work of the anime also looks splendid, and the action does justice to Takeru Hokazono's brilliant manga.

Kagurabachi Anime Full Staff Reveal

Shonen Jump Press’s official event also announced the full staff at CyPic that's going to handle the anime adaptation of Kagurabachi. The series director is none other than Tetsuya Takeuchi, who has worked previously on other major anime as an animator, animation director, storyboard artist, and even Episode Director, notably Neon Genesis Evangelion (animator), Naruto and Naruto Shippuden (Animator), Hunter x Hunter (animator), Jujutsu Kaisen (animator), and Lycoris Recoil (animator, storyboard, episode director).

Along with him, Keigo Sasaki, who has worked on acclaimed series like Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist, Naruto, and Uma Musume, will handle the character design sheet. Meanwhile, Taihi Kimura will be behind voicing the main character, Chihiro Rokuhira.
