Jujutsu Kaisen returned after a week-long break in the best way possible. Fans were eagerly waiting for the episode because they wanted to see Hiromi Higuruma in action. Days before the episode had even aired, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime had shared new images featuring Higuruma.

When the eighth episode finally aired, viewers were blown away by its quality, and they realized that all the hype was justified. Aside from Hiromi Higuruma, the episode had other highlights.

Hiromi Higuruma Is An Incredibly Strong Sorcerer

Before awakening as a sorcerer, Higuruma worked as a lawyer, trying to protect those who had been wrongly sentenced by judges. Most of the time, Higuruma was unable to do anything about it, but the Culling Game changed his life, possibly for the better. Since he awakened as a sorcerer, Higuruma was able to change the outcome, and it was all due to his cursed technique.

Towards the end of JJK Season Episode 8, Itadori Yuji finally met Higuruma. The lawyer was lying in a bathtub when Itadori approached him, requesting assistance. Itadori told Higuruma how he planned to use the points to stop the needless killing of humans in the Culling Game. Despite Itadori's noble goal, Higuruma was not interested, as he preferred the current state of affairs. As Itadori got ready to fight, Higuruma immediately used Domain Expansion.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 9 will be released on March 5, 2026. The episode is titled "Tokyo Colony No. 1 – Part 3," so it's quite clear that the focus will be on the battle between Itadori and Higuruma. The latter is obviously in no mood to go easy. Otherwise, he wouldn't have opened his domain instantly. In most cases, fighters save their Domain Expansion until the very last, as it's their trump card.

However, all might not be lost for Itadori. Based on Higuruma's backstory, he doesn't seem like a person who kills people for joy. During his stint as a lawyer, Higuruma looked out for people. So, it is unlikely that he will just kill Itadori. Instead, Higuruma will defer the punishment to Judgeman.

Higuruma's Judgeman Will Decide Itadori's Fate

Based on the preview of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 9, it seems the Domain judges an individual based on their argument. The person trapped must present a statement by which the Shikigami will judge them. The individual is free to lie, but that might adversely affect them. Since Higuruma is so intent on people knowing the truth, it is plausible to assume that Judgeman is able to discern between the truth and lies. Additionally, the person only gets one chance to make an argument. Another unique trait of the domain is that it prevents the target from controlling their cursed energy, which is the bane of all sorcerers. Itadori is a bit different, as his physical abilities are unlike those of most human beings.

Also, based on the preview, Itadori seems to have failed the initial trial. So, he asks Higuruma for a retrial. There wasn't any information on how Itadori lost or whether he will receive a retrial.

Kenjaku's True Goal Could Be Revealed Soon

Another important detail that could be disclosed in the upcoming episode is Kenjaku's true goal. Previously, fans saw Megumi Fushiguro being led to Reggie, who spoke about how Kenjaku's plan wasn't just to evolve humanity. Based on Reggie's statement, it is safe to say that Kenjaku wanted to achieve something far greater than just evolving humanity.

However, fans will have to wait for a while before they finally get to learn more about Kenjaku and his goals. It's possible that the ninth episode will be completely focused on Itadori's fight with Higuruma, meaning Megumi might not get the chance to make an appearance at all.
