Throughout the entirety of Jujutsu Kaisen, there are only a few characters who can even hope to challenge Sukuna on equal terms. Dubbed 'The King of Curses' due to his unparalleled strength, Sukuna has gone down in history as the most powerful sorcerer of all time whose strength and knowledge of jujutsu are simply unparalleled.
Over the course of the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Sukuna actually underwent a few transformations, though they were only identified as such in a non-traditional way. So, in this article, let's go over the many states that Sukuna has fought in throughout the series to see at which point he was the strongest.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Sukuna's Strongest Innate Techniques, Ranked
What were some of the King of Curses' strongest Innate Techniques?
6 1-Finger Sukuna Easily Destroyed A Powerful Curse
Arc: Fearsome Womb Arc
Just like any other series, Jujutsu Kaisen needed to hook the audience from the very first episode, which it did so perfectly with its portrayal of the Fearsome Womb arc. Although it introduced Yuji, Megumi, and Gojo, the best part about this episode was Sukuna's initial manifestation that was brought forth by Yuji eating one of his fingers.
Despite being only at 1/20th of his full strength, Sukuna was still astronomically powerful at this stage, which could be seen when he easily obliterated a Grade 2 Cursed Spirit with a single attack. Even in his brief scuffle against Gojo, Sukuna showed immense speed and strength, which was enough to destroy entire sections of the building they were fighting on.
5 2-Finger Sukuna Toyed With A Finger Bearer
Arc: Fearsome Womb Arc
Following the events of Yuji's recruitment into Jujutsu High, he, Nobara, and Megumi are sent to deal with a Cursed Spirit within a Juvenile Detention Center, which ultimately ends up being a terrifying Finger Bearer. As a last ditch effort to defeat the enemy, Yuji brings forth Sukuna, who at this point is empowered by another finger.
However, despite being at an incredibly low count of fingers, Sukuna's strength is so immense that he effortlessly deals with a Special Grade Cursed Spirit, ultimately ending the villain with a powerful Domain Expansion. Upon defeating this enemy, Sukuna grabs another finger from its body and fights Megumi with it.

4 15-Finger Sukuna Was Already Stronger Than Everyone Besides Gojo
Arc: Shibuya Incident Arc
The Shibuya Incident arc saw the King of Curses jump up in strength to an unprecedented degree, as Yuji's unconscious body was was fed 12 fingers at once by Nanako, Mimiko, and Jogo. Because of this, he was brought to 75% of his total power with 15 fingers, which made him the most powerful character in the series besides Gojo at that point.
His strength in this state was so great that he was able to humiliate Jogo, the most offensively powerful of the Special Grade Disaster Curses, and even defeat the legendary Mahoraga. Although Yuji would eventually regain control of his body from the villain, the Shibuya Incident showed exactly why Sukuna was considered the strongest sorcerer of all time.
3 Heian Era Sukuna Was A Monster Of Myth
The Strongest In History
Long before the series began, the Heian Era was said to be the most dangerous time in Japan due to the abundance of Cursed Energy and the extremely powerful Cursed Spirits that were roaming everywhere, forcing all sorcerers of the period to be exceptionally powerful in order to survive on a day-to-day basis.
However, this is where Sukuna thrived; starting off as a human sorcerer but eventually turning into the most powerful Curse of all time. Not much more is known about Sukuna's time in the Heian Era, but it's been confirmed that his strength was unparalleled, and he was feared by most as a demon or God, likened more to a walking calamity than a sorcerer.
After 8 Years, Jujutsu Kaisen Finally Completes Gojo Satoru's Character
Gojo Satoru's dream was finally realized in the final Volume release of Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, completing his character in the process.
2 Sukuna Reached New Heights Through Megumi's Vessel
Arc: Culling Game Arc
The Culling Game arc had some of the greatest reveals in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen story, but very few twists could compare to Sukuna taking over Megumi's body for his inevitable fight with Gojo. The Ten Shadows technique was always spoken about as one of the strongest ever, but it never really saw much strength through Megumi himself.
However, once Sukuna took control of the technique, its strength grew exponentially due to his vast Cursed Energy and mastery of jujutsu. In this state, Sukuna brought forth Mahoraga and even used its incredible adaptation ability to bypass Gojo's Infinity for good, which just shows that this form was the only way anyone could even do so.
1 Sukuna's Endgame True Form Was the Strongest Sorcerer
Arc: Shinjuku Showdown
Without a doubt, the strongest character by the end of the original Jujutsu Kaisen series was Ryomen Sukuna. Although many fans believe that the strongest version of the villain was the version with the Ten Shadows, the truth of the matter is that, in his True Form, Sukuna was built to be as efficient and powerful with jujutsu as possible.
Plus, most notably, in this form, he had access to the infamous World Cutting Slash, which is largely considered to be the strongest offensive attack in the entire series and was the only thing that could have killed Gojo by bypassing his Infinity. With all of this considered, Sukuna's state at the end of the series was definitely his strongest as he was able to take on every hero by himself.
Jujutsu Kaisen can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
