Ever since the original Jujutsu Kaisen series ended, many fans had felt that there was much more of the story to be told and much more of the world to be seen. Just a year after its conclusion, the sequel series, Modulo, was released, showing fans the world of Jujutsu Kaisen many decades in the future.
Ultimately, the series was well-received as fans immensely enjoyed the incredible action and the likable new characters. However, the main point of contention in Modulo was the ending, which left most fans disappointed and failed to answer many pertinent questions, so let's look at what these were.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Was Modulo's Ending Bad?
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo ended on a rather sudden note with Chapter 25, with many fans stating that it felt rushed.
What's Has Todo Been Up To For All Of These Decades?
A Fan-Favorite Character Who Was Missing
One of the best reveals in Modulo came when it was stated that fan-favorite sorcerer, Aoi Todo, was still alive and kicking at 80+ years old. Todo is one of the only characters in the series who is unanimously loved by all fans and his role in the overall story, specifically for Yuji, is one that simply cannot be replaced. Without Todo, Yuji would never have reached the heights that he did.
Only some of the original cast of characters are still alive in Modulo, and Todo is one of them. However, despite this monumental reveal, he was never even shown briefly, which was a massive disappointment for fans who wanted to see at least a little bit more of the previous series. Despite offering his help to Yuji even to this day, Todo is never even seen in Modulo.
What Was The Deal With Yuta And Maki's Son?
Where Is He?
In the epilogue of the original series, fans were first introduced to Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, who were the grandchildren of Yuta and Maki as well as the protagonists of Modulo. Eventually, it was revealed that their father, Iori Okkotsu, was an incredibly distant and mysterious man who just went missing one day and hasn't been seen since.
Furthermore, he was always said to be a quiet and reserved person who grew incredibly upset about the difference in strength between the modern and future sorcerers compared to those in the past, like his parents and Yuji. He once even met Yuji where they seemed to be having a heated conversation, but the subject of this was never explained or even hinted at.

How Does Maru's Cursed Technique Even Work?
The Strongest Technique Ever?
One of the main characters of Modulo was Maru, an alien from a strange planet called Simuria. Although a very well-written and docile character, Maru eventually showed that he was no pushover in battle, as he fought against Tsurugi and proved himself to be a real powerhouse. This was due to his incredible Cursed Technique that he shared with his twin brother Cross.
On the surface, Chaos allows Maru to distort physics for himself and his target, greatly disorienting them. However, the 'Harmony' part of the technique was just needlessly complicated, as it essentially acted like a Deus Ex Machina which allowed Maru to ultimately do whatever he wanted under the vague guise of 'Harmony'. Through this technique, Maru was able to rid the world of Cursed Energy, but it never really made sense how, and was more a convenience than anything else.
Who Was The Winner Of Dabura vs. Mahoraga?
The Ultimate Fight With No Winner
Although many themes and symbolism were prevalent throughout Modulo, the entire series was building up to the ultimate fight between Dabura and Mahoraga, which showed the most prodigious sorcerer in history going up against a monster who can adapt to everything. All the events shown in this battle were easily the highlight of the series as a whole. However, the battle ended without any clear winner, which was, by far, the most disappointing aspect of the entire limited series.
As the focal point of Modulo that was showing an incredible fight, fans were expecting to see a victor at the very least. The worst part is that the fight ended abruptly at its highest point, with Dabura finally realizing his Domain Expansion and Mahoraga seemingly adapting to Dabura's existence, which would make him stronger than ever before. Not only did we never get to see either of these characters with their greatest powers, but the entire fight just ended with barely any consequence.

What Happened To Sukuna's Remaining Finger?
The Lingering Mystery
When the sequel to the original series was announced, fans were convinced that it must have had something to do with Sukuna's final finger, which never really got consumed or destroyed in Jujutsu Kaisen. Most were expecting the legendary villain to return due to its lingering presence.
However, ultimately, Sukuna's final finger was of no consequence to the overall story. Not only did it not appear in Modulo, but there wasn't even a mention of it, leaving fans scratching their heads about its whereabouts and potential future in the series, if it will even have one.
Yuji's Powers And Domain Are Still The Biggest Mystery
What Can He Do?
Towards the end of the Shinjuku Showdown raid against Sukuna, Yuji began to awaken his true powers, though his inexperience with them meant he could never use them to their full extent. However, with the announcement of the sequel, and the reveal that Yuji is still alive, fans were incredibly excited to see how powerful Yuji had become to be known as the strongest of his era.
However, aside from a couple of brief showings, Yuji's powers were largely left to the imagination. In one of the worst moves for the series, the perfected powers of Yuji, which had been teased since the original series, were still not explained, and his mysterious Domain Expansion was once again ignored despite being one of the most promising aspects for a potential sequel.
