Jujutsu Kaisen: The Strongest Sorcerers of Every Era

Among the Shonen anime genre, there are very few franchises that place as much of an importance on the concept of 'the strongest' as Jujutsu Kaisen. From the early days of this series, Gojo was introduced as the most powerful character in the world, and while that may have just been speaking about his strength, it was actually integral to his entire arc.

Since then, fans have seen a total of 4 sorcerers whom they have unofficially categorized as 'Calamity Grade' due to their unparalleled strength. Aside from one other and Mahoraga, none can even hold a candle to the power of each era's strongest sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen – especially when they use their strongest abilities.

Sukuna Is Known As The Strongest Sorcerer Ever

Age: Heian Era/Modern Day

In Jujutsu Kaisen, there is only one character who has ever been officially referred to as the strongest of all time: the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. In the Heian Era, Sukuna lived as the strongest figure in the entire world at a time when powerful Cursed Spirits and sorcerers were very common, which built his strength to unprecedented levels.

Since then, he was reincarnated in the modern era and fought against Satoru Gojo, who was the strongest sorcerer of the current age. Though they were equal in overall strength, Sukuna's mastery of jujutsu eventually proved to be greater than his opponent's, allowing him to kill his foe in a last-ditch effort, leading to him being crowned the strongest sorcerer in history.

Strongest Attack: The World-Cutting Slash

As the battle against Gojo reached its last stages and the Limitless sorcerer seemed to have the upper hand, Sukuna used his masterful knowledge of jujutsu to mold his Cursed Technique into something far stronger. Instead of slashing a target, Sukuna targeted space itself, so that anything within that space would get cut. This proved to be the only way to bypass Gojo's Infinity. While Malevolent Shrine is quite powerful, none of the slashes in it had the destructive capacity of the World-Cutting Slash.

Satoru Gojo's Birth Changed The Balance Of The World

Age: Modern Day

Although he is a supporting character in Jujutsu Kaisen, there is no doubt that Satoru Gojo is the face of the franchise. Due to being the first person in 400 years to be born with the Six Eyes and Limitless together, Gojo's innate strength was so great that his mere birth facilitated the creation of far more powerful Cursed Spirits in the world as a means of keeping balance.

Throughout JJK, Gojo has shown some of the most broken and insane abilities that no one else, not even powerful characters like Yuta or Kenjaku, could even hope to contend with. Gojo drove Sukuna to the absolute brink and even had the King of Curses on the ropes for much of their fight. Despite dying at the end, Gojo proved to be an equal to the strongest sorcerer.

Strongest Attack: Hollow Purple

Gojo may have the most broken Domain Expansion in the series as it freezes his opponents in place instantly, but the destructive output of his Hollow Purple attack easily makes it the strongest in Gojo's arsenal. By combining the infinite pulling force of Lapse Blue and the infinite pushing force of Reversal Red, Gojo creates a virtual mass that does both things simultaneously. This results in one of the most powerful attacks in the series, capable of erasing anything in its way,

Dabura Karaba Is The Strongest Simurian

Age: Modulo Era

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a sequel to the original storyline set around 80 years in the future, dealing with the aftermath of humanity coming across aliens known as Simurians. Among these aliens, there is the towering Dabura Karaba, who is not only known as the strongest alien, but as a calamity on the level of Ryomen Sukuna.

Dabura's strength was hyped to a huge degree with his first appearance, and he finally showcased his immense power in his ultimate battle with Mahoraga. Owing to his Cursed Technique's manipulation of light itself and his uncanny and prodigious talent for jujutsu, Dabura proved to be so powerful that only someone on the level of Gojo or Sukuna could truly defeat him.

Strongest Attack: Lightspeed Kick

Dabura's Light Manipulation Cursed Technique also allows him to imbue himself with these insane speeds, letting him move close to the speed of light itself. Because of this, he gathers more and more mass the faster he moves, and he showed his proficiency with his power when he unleashed a kick at blinding speeds. The mass gathered due to his speed was so great that it destroyed a huge portion of the city, making it an attack on the same level as Gojo and Sukuna's strongest.

Yuji Itadori's Strength May Be the Greatest Of Them All

Age: Modulo Era

Due to his sparing appearances in Modulo, fans can never get a true estimation of how powerful Yuji truly is in the Modulo era. However, due to his nature as a Death Painting and him being seeped in Sukuna's Cursed Energy and technique, Yuji has had the most time to hone his powers, even more than Sukuna.

It isn't too farfetched to assume that Yuji is the strongest sorcerer in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen franchise, since he not only has access to Sukuna's entire arsenal and his near-bottomless well of Cursed Energy, but he also has a plethora of other techniques such as Blood Manipulation. For the past 80 years, Yuji has been honing his powers, so placing him above Sukuna, Gojo, and Dabura is likely the correct choice.

Strongest Attack: Ultimate Dismantle

As stated previously, Yuji is very rarely seen in Modulo, and rarer still in a combat scenario to show off his full power, so his actual strongest attack can only be speculated on. While his display of Shrine against Mahito and his Piercing Blood did show an unparalleled level of refinement, the greatest destructive output was displayed in a massive Dismantle that he released. This attack ended up killing many powerful curses and even split entire buildings in two, leading many to believe that this may have been a World-Cutting Slash.
