Hidden games in Steam disappear from the player’s game library, and the only way to see it again is by navigating to a very specific menu in the Steam client. Hidden games can also be unhidden quite easily.
This guide goes over the exact method players can use to find games hidden from their Steam Library on the PC version of Steam and the Steam Deck, as well as how to unhide them permanently. Here’s the breakdown.
How To Appear Offline On Steam
Learn how to appear offline and invisible on Steam — and the varying reasons why this could be of great use.
How to See Hidden Games in Steam
In Steam, you can see which games you’ve hidden by going to View → Hidden Games in the client. Here’s how this works.
- Open the Steam desktop client.
- Click on “View” in the top left corner of the client to open up the context menu.
- Click on “Hidden Games.”
This will take you to a new page where you can see every single title you’ve hidden from your Steam Library in the past.
If no games are showing up in your Steam Library, open the drop-down in the left pane and toggle the check mark next to “Games.”
Hidden Games Not Showing Due to Selected View Filter in Steam
In the hidden games menu in Steam, you may run into the error that says “Games in this collection are currently not shown due to your selected view filter.” This is because you likely have the filter “Show only ready to play games” toggled on. If this filter is turned on, any hidden game that is not currently installed and updated on your PC will not show up in the Hidden Games menu.
To disable this filter, here’s what you need to do:
- In the Hidden Games menu, click on the “Show all Collections” button in the left pane of the Steam client. This will show all games in your Steam Library, as well as show all currently active filters.
- The “Show only ready to play games” filter is the play icon surrounded by a circle, next to the “Games” drop-down.
- Click on the filter icon to disable it (it will turn from blue to grey).
Now, the section on the right will show all currently playable games.

Decky Loader can unlock the potential of the Steam Deck. Here's how to install it.
How to Unhide Hidden Games in Steam
To remove the hidden tag from a game, here’s what you need to do:
- Use the method shown in the section above to find the hidden game.
- Right-click on the game’s portrait and click on Manage.
- Select Remove from Hidden in the context menu.
And done! Now, this game will show up as normal in your Steam Library.
If you later want to reverse the decision and hide the game again, right-click on its portrait/Steam Library entry, click on “Manage,” and select “Hide this game.”
How to See Hidden Games on Steam Deck
The Steam launcher on the Steam Deck (called Big Picture Mode on desktop) works a little bit differently compared to the PC client. Here’s how you can see hidden games in this interface.
- Open the Steam Menu from the bottom left corner.
- Open Settings.
- Navigate to Home in the left pane.
- Click on Manage in front of the option that says “X games are hidden.”
- All your hidden games will be shown in the form of a collection.
To unhide hidden games, press and hold on their portrait, select Manage, and click on “Remove from Hidden.”
If you’re using the desktop mode on your Steam Deck instead of the default launcher, use the method described in the first section.
Unable to See Hidden Games Error Fix
Hidden games on the Steam Deck/Big Picture Mode can only be seen if you’ve created a Collection in your Steam Library (the contents of the Collection do not matter). If you haven’t made a Collection previously, you can do so by taking the following steps:
- Open Steam.
- Press and hold the portrait of any game in your Library.
- Select Add to → New Collection.
- Give any name in the text box and hit “Create Collection.”
- Select “Yes, show collections” when prompted, and a Collection will be created for you.
Now, if you follow the steps shown in the section above, you’ll be able to see your Hidden games collection.
