After reaching the Old Camp, players can talk to a large number of NPCs, most of whom have side quests and interactions of their own. The Old Camp is just one of the major factions in Gothic 1 Remake, with the others being the Swamp Camp and the New Camp.
If you're curious about reaching the New Camp to meet its residents, pick up quests, and explore a completely different faction, the guide below will walk you through the process.

All Ways to Reach New Camp in Gothic 1 Remake
One of the easiest ways to reach the New Camp is with the help of Mordrag. He is an NPC in the Old Camp who can be found sitting on a bench outside his house near the marketplace. In addition to selling lockpicks and other items, Mordrag is also tied to a quest that will take you directly to the New Camp.
Speak with him and exhaust all of his dialogue options to begin the Out of Sight quest. If the quest is not available, you may need to complete a few additional tasks around the Old Camp first, particularly some of the quests involving the Shadows.
Once the quest becomes available and you accept it, Mordrag will begin his journey to the New Camp, and you can follow him there.
Several enemies can appear along the route, but Mordrag is more than capable of handling most of them on his own. Even so, it's worth keeping an eye on his health and helping out when possible to ensure he makes it safely to the destination.
Upon reaching the New Camp and completing the quest, you'll receive Mordrag's Ring along with some additional experience as a reward.
If you haven't unlocked the Out of Sight quest yet and simply want to visit the New Camp as soon as possible, you can always make the journey on your own. Follow the steps below to reach the camp without Mordrag's assistance:
- Stand facing the main entrance of the Old Camp and leave through the gate.
- Head toward the bridge and cross it.
- Continue straight ahead, ignoring the Molerats, Wolves, and other creatures roaming nearby.
- Stay on the main path and continue past the cave.
- After exiting the cave, you'll reach the first split in the road. Take the path on the right.
- Shortly afterward, the path will split again. Turn left at this junction.
- Continue following the trail as it winds uphill.
- When you reach a wooden bridge, you'll know you're heading in the right direction and are getting close to the New Camp.
- Cross the bridge and continue along the path.
- Ignore the Scavengers and Bloodflies you encounter along the way and keep moving forward.
- At the end of the route, look to the right, and you'll find two guards standing near the entrance to the New Camp.
Once you've arrived, you can begin exploring the area, speaking with its residents, and taking on quests unique to the faction. Even if you ultimately decide to join another camp, visiting the New Camp early is worth doing for the experience, quests, and rewards available there.
Where to Buy the Map for the New Camp
Now that you have arrived at the New Camp, your next objective is to talk to the NPCs, pick up quests, and purchase the map for the area. To do so, continue from where we left off by heading up the path and then right up the hill. Go past the two guards, one of whom might stop you since it is your first time here. You can converse with him for a bit if you want.
Afterward, continue straight across the wooden bridge and head right to find the settlement area on your left, marked by a purple glowing light in the middle. Make your way down toward that purple light, where you will find Cronos. Talk to him, and you can purchase the map for around 37 Ore Nuggets.
