How to Solve the Ancient Generator Puzzles in Crimson Desert

To get the Mysterious Pot in Crimson Desert, you need to complete the Chapter 4 questline starting at Kilndren Workshop. For this, you have to repair all three damaged kilns, restore the ancient generator, and then return to Grimnir after a short wait period. Once the workshop is fully restored, you activate Grimnir’s device, which drops the Iron Pot, also called the Kuku Pot. There’s no other way to get the Mysterious Pot in Crimson Desert, so you’ll have to put in the work.

Mysterious Pot Overview

To get the Mysterious Pot, you need to complete several conditions in order.

Start Chapter 4: Mysterious Pot at Kilndren Workshop
Repair three kilns using different mechanics
Solve the ancient generator rune alignment puzzle
Speak to Grimnir and wait in-game time
Activate the workshop device to receive the Iron Pot
Complete the follow-up tutorial with Togrum

The reward is the Kuku Pot, an item used for storing environmental objects and Abyss-related materials.

How to Get the Mysterious Pot in Crimson Desert

Reach Kilndren Workshop and Start the Quest

The quest begins after the Howling Hill incident, when an explosion leads you northwest to Kilndren Workshop. Grimnir is already at the site. He’ll explain that the kilns caused the explosion. Speaking with him officially starts the Mysterious Pot questline.

It’s a good idea to activate the nearby Abyss Nexus so you can fast travel back later.

Solve the Ancient Generator Puzzle

Before you can repair the kilns, you need to restore power to the workshop by activating the ancient generator. This is your first real puzzle in the questline.

The generator consists of several rotating rings, each marked with glowing runes. Your goal is to align all of these runes vertically. You do this by rotating the rings using the wooden handles and switching between them with a lever at the base. If a rune is slightly off, it won’t register as correct.

Make sure you slowly rotate each ring and listen for the subtle rumble that confirms proper alignment. Once all the symbols line up, the generator powers on and unlocks the next stage of the quest.

Repair the Three Kilns

With the generator active, you now need to fix three separate kilns around the workshop. Each one requires a different repair method.

The first kiln simply needs its power cable reconnected. Plug the loose tube into the connecting pipe and activate the yellow lever to restore it.

The second kiln requires rebuilding. Use Axiom Force to lift broken parts and stack them correctly. After assembling the structure, climb up and use Force Palm to secure it before activating the lever.

The third kiln involves collecting glowing fuel orbs. Two are placed nearby, while the others require a bit of searching. One sits near the water’s edge, another is hidden inside a statue’s eye socket, and the final one can be found close to the entrance of a nearby cave. Use Axiom Force to collect each orb and place them into the kiln’s fuel slots. After inserting all of them, activate the kiln to complete the repair.

Return to Grimnir and Wait

Once all kilns are repaired, return to Grimnir. He will acknowledge your progress and prepare the Mysterious Pot. At this point, you have to use the wait function to pass in-game time. You can do this by using the wait function from the pause menu.

You can dispatch any background missions before doing this, since time will fast forward and progress those tasks as well.

Obtain the Iron Pot (Kuku Pot)

Once enough time has passed, speak to Grimnir again. He leads you to a workshop device and asks you to operate it. When you interact with it, the mechanism opens and the Iron Pot drops down.

This is the Mysterious Pot, also known as the Kuku Pot, and it is now added to your inventory as a key utility item.

How to Use the Kuku Pot (Mysterious Pot) in Crimson Desert

Once you get the Kuku Pot, you’ll be directed to Togrum, an artisan who explains how the pot works. The Kuku Pot lets you store large environmental objects and special Abyss items. During the tutorial, you use Axiom Force to pick up a boulder and place it into the pot.

Once stored, items can be retrieved from the pot whenever needed. As such, the Mysterious Pot opens up new puzzle-solving possibilities by letting you carry objects that would otherwise be immovable or inconvenient to transport.
