How to Harvest Apples in Crimson Desert (Kamu’s Request)

After unlocking the farm in Crimson Desert, the very first task players have to do is to plant an apple seed in their farm for Kamu’s Request, help the seed grow into a tree, and harvest the apples that grow from it.

However, the time it takes for an apple to grow to its full size and then bear fruit is significant, and the game does not give players any indication of how long, exactly, this takes, and whether or not they need to water the seeds or use fertilizer to help the growth process. Here’s how this works.

Kamu’s Request

After planting the apple seeds in the ground, it takes 4 in-game days (8 hours in real time) for the seed to grow into a full apple tree and bear fruit. On the third day, you’ll see that the seed has sprouted into a small bush, but since apple trees only bear fruit when fully grown, you’ll need to wait the full 96 in-game hours before you’re able to harvest apples.

You can pass the time in Crimson Desert by resting in a bed or by a bonfire.

Once the apple tree is fully grown and you see apples on the branches, approach the tree and interact with the apples to harvest them. Hand over the harvested apples to Kamu to complete Kamu’s Request and get the reward: a Medium Bag (+3 inventory slots) and +50 Greymane Contribution Points.

How to Water and Fertilize Plants in Crimson Desert

How to Unlock Field Sprayer and Fertilizer Sprayer Recipe

You do not need to water or fertilize the apple tree during its initial growth phase for it to fully grow and bear fruit, but doing so will speed up the process. However, if you want your apple trees to bear fruit a second time after the initial harvest, you’ll need to water them.

Watering and fertilization can be done using mechanical devices called the Field Sprayer and the Fertilizer Sprayer. You unlock these recipes automatically during the Vellua Fishermen's Guild faction quest “Beyond the Silent Waves,” which unlocks in Chapter 5 of the main story.

Alternatively, you can also observe certain farmers in the farms surrounding Demeniss to unlock these recipes earlier than that. Look for farmers using a mechanical water sprayer in the fields.

Once you have the recipe, you’ll be able to craft these items at any Smithy.
