One of the more interesting announcements to come out of Gamescom 2025 was the reveal of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. The game is set to come out in 2026, and borrows many gameplay elements from the Batman Akrham series, but gives them a complete LEGO makeover that grabbed the attention of everyone. Much to the delight of fans, the game will also pull inspiration from every part of the character's cinematic legacy and comic book history, with a big highlight revealed to be the Christopher Nolan Batman films. While LEGO Batman is set for a new adventure, there have been other franchises that LEGO fans have wanted to see adapted and handled in the same way as the LEGO Batman games.
While LEGO games are no stranger to crazy universes and imaginative worlds, some of the most popular franchises and cinematic universes have still not made their way into the world of LEGO. But the demand and constant chatter from LEGO fans online have kept the desire alive to see more good things happen. If there's one franchise that can make almost anything instantly better or more fun, it's LEGO. Here are three franchises that I want to see get their own LEGO games next, after the release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
3 retro game consoles I want to see turned into LEGO sets
With LEGO releasing various sets based on home game consoles, here are three retro video game consoles we should see become LEGO sets!
LEGO Star Trek
Boldly go where LEGO hasn't gone before
For most sci-fi fans out there, the two biggest franchises in the world are most likely Star Wars and Star Trek. Even though other sci-fi stories and franchises have been present for a long time, one can visibly see how much impact Star Wars and Star Trek have on pop culture and every entertainment medium. LEGO Star Wars is a major franchise that once helped the LEGO company in a big way in the 90s, becoming a collaboration that would open the door for other big series to collaborate with the company. However, the other major sci-fi series that people love haven't gotten any sort of adaptation or video game release. As Spock would say, it is illogical.
There is a lot of potential for something like LEGO Star Trek, which can pull from decades of stories and eras of the franchise. Whether you're a fan of Captain Kirk and the original Enterprise, the crew under Captain Picard and the Enterprise-D, or simply love Deep Space Nine and Voyager, there's so much fertile ground for ideas to be adapted into a LEGO video game. Like Star Wars before it, a game that takes place in the Star Trek universe has a variety of characters and species that could go incredibly deep for hardcore fans, and introduce something in a fun way to newcomers. Of course, the humor of the LEGO series would also mesh very well with the many scenarios and encounters in space that Starfleet so often has in the series. It's a winning combination that has yet to be fully explored, and one that Star Trek fans would be very open to.
But is there a danger of things feeling too similar to LEGO Star Wars? Not at all, since Star Trek has a very different tone for a sci-fi franchise in comparison. The concepts of exploration and philosophical discussions between characters are deep enough to have plenty of room for humor in a way that feels different from Star Wars stories. Having shenanigans between Kirk and Spock on unexplored planets would be fun, or even seeing the Klingons or other aliens get rowdy on Deep Space Nine, much to the frustration of Odo and Quark. There are many more fun ideas that can be pulled from the nearly 60 years that the franchise has been around. Hopefully, LEGO and the powers that be for Star Trek can come up with a solution as good as Scotty would, and find a way to boldly go where LEGO has never gone before.
LEGO James Bond
A license to build
With the James Bond 007 franchise recently changing hands and setting the stage for a new era of Bond movies to be made, now may be the best time to revisit an old and unused concept. In 2016, developer Traveler's Tales pitched the idea of a LEGO video game that adapted the 007 franchise, much in the same way as Indiana Jones and Star Wars were designed before. Some leaked trailer footage of the game gave fans an idea of what 007 in LEGO form might look and sound like. Despite some positive feedback, the game was ultimately canceled by LEGO because of concerns about a mature and darker tone that a LEGO 007 might include. But that hasn't stopped people from discussing it over the years, and thinking about it again now.
LEGO games have approached mature content in clever ways to make things more lighthearted, humorous, and interesting. Series like Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Harry Potter have all had mature content in some fashion, but were adapted into LEGO titles without any issues. The universe of James Bond 007 can be approached in the same way, even though the movies and original Ian Fleming novels were geared towards adults over the decades. The 007 series has many eras for LEGO to pull from, with multiple versions of the character, in the same way that LEGO Batman includes multiple versions of The Dark Knight. Imagine traveling to different LEGO cities to explore, much in the same way as LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and going on missions for a LEGO MI-6 as James Bond. Maybe even changing the kind of Bond actor that can be controlled by switching suits in-between missions.
Whether you love the Sean Connery films, the Roger Moore adventures of the 80s, or the more modern Bond movies, there's a lot of James Bond to go around for a LEGO game. There's a charm to the glitz and glam of Bond, along with the adventurous and suspenseful action of the spy world, that makes it very appealing for LEGO games. Just make sure those bricks you're building with are shaken, not stirred.
The golden age of Star Wars video games
There was a time when Star Wars games were creative and exciting. For many Star Wars fans, it was a golden age of video game releases.
LEGO Spider-Man
Friendly neighborhood hero
LEGO has already tackled the Marvel Universe in many ways, with multiple games that bring together many of the heroes and villains from Marvel Comics. But unlike the LEGO Batman games, most of the adventures of Marvel heroes were always focused on bringing groups of heroes together, not using one as the main focus for an entire series. This is why the most ideal candidate for a LEGO video game series that was made in the same way as the LEGO Batman titles has always been Spider-Man. For many fans, good ol' web-head is the most popular character in all of Marvel Comics, and has a deep enough history of stories to stand toe-to-toe with the types of games that Batman has gotten over the years.
A LEGO Spider-Man game has so many great examples to pull inspiration from. The upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is heavily inspired by the Batman Arkham Trilogy from Rocksteady Games, so it makes total sense that a LEGO Spider-Man could be inspired by Insomniac's Spider-Man titles on the PlayStation 5. They are the best examples of a video game based on the character, and have a lot of attention to detail when referencing Spider-Man's history. For years, fans have compared the Batman Arkham games to Insomniac's Spider-Man for these same reasons, so it would be inevitable that the LEGO versions of these characters would probably be similar.
Controlling a LEGO Spidey in a full LEGO New York City that you could swing through sounds fun, especially if given the same scale and detail that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is getting for Gotham City. While the combat could easily be similar to the LEGO Marvel Super Hero games, there's nothing stopping LEGO from borrowing a few elements from Insomniac's games, especially when it comes to web swinging. Shooting out a web and gliding between structures while in combat made for some of the best moments in those Spider-Man games, not just traveling through the city. We may have already gotten Spider-Man in LEGO Marvel games, but having a game where Spidey takes a starring role could be a winning choice for an amazing experience.
LEGO mania in more worlds
People love to play the many different LEGO games that come out occasionally. Seeing our favorite franchises in a universe full of bricks and studs can be fun and humorous, especially when there's a reverence for the source material they pull from. With LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on the horizon, there's no slowing down the momentum that LEGO has with their video games and the people who love them. There are plenty more places to go with LEGO games that can offer even more fun and exciting experiences.

The Batman Arkham series is among the best superhero game series ever. And 10 years later, Batman Arkham Knight is still amazing. Here's why!
