Tarantino is the kind of cinematographer who's always conscious of his place in the medium's history, fully enganging with classical tropes as techniques to push the movie's narrative, never gratuitously, as at the very least it's always a fully loving wink to past masters of the trade.
His novel based on the script for Once upon a time in Hollywood is a companion piece to the movie.
We play WHRPG 4ed in an hybrid setup of laptops around a coffee table running it on the Forge, with plenty of hardbound books and physical maps, as well as main rulebook PDFs on our phones.
We could have someone play remote, but so far, everyone is always there or we reschedule.
Our GM being a bit of a sadist, most of our rolls (no physical dice) are GM only, blind to us ;)
The group has existed for 40+ years, I've only recently joined them, but I've known them all for about that time, one of them for 50 years, hehe.
When we need to upgrade all modules to keep up with the forge software, it's a fair chunk of cash, a bit more than a hundred bucks last time around, coming to 20 a head so quite reasonable, all things considered.
The junk adjacent food and get together to f around like we are are still 15-30 years old is a big part of the allure to this gang of mid 50s teenagers.
Game names are not copyrighted (copyrights deal with copying, or reproduction of the actual work in its entirety, or in parts), they could be trademarked, but that would not guarantee name exclusivity.
Numerous games and books, songs, films, etc. have the same title while touching on different subjects.
Might want to do another round of copy editing before pressing the button, as I don't believe the repeated paragraphs are there to boost word count, neh?
The paragraph starting with "But the book’s emotional power still stands out nearly 50 years after its publication." starts the repeating sequence.
20 years ago, video game gambling was its own genre, well defined and separate.
Now, it seems the loosening and outright legalization of gambling has made mainstream videogaming a simple skin on gambling, and the house always wins. Always.
Granted, not the worse thing happening on Sol III today, more a raunchy sign or symptom of the times...
This finale, half of its length, nearly, being the epilogue, it joins the Sopranos in the pantheon of Cataclysmic Bad Endings.
It's like the problems of season 4, and even 3 came to their foregone conclusion: bad writing, bad acting can't be saved by bad direction on front of green screens, non withstanding the VFX budget.
Stranger Things should have been done after season 3, or shot all before the Pandemic, or rewriten to include the passage of 5+ years ...
How's the reaction so far ? Everyone denying their inner critic for hype belonging?
TLDR: it sucked.
