See AllNintendo Switch 2 just got one of the decade's best games, meaning you have no excuse not to play
I have the perfect excuse not to play it!
It doesn't look fun to me.
Although I suppose that's not so much an 'excuse' as a 'reason'.

The difference between Sony going digital-only and Steam is that Steam is NOT a PC games monopoly.
I have some games on Steam. I have more games not on Steam. I get them direct from the publishers, or from Humble, or from GOG. Places I can download the installer and keep it. Generally if I get a game on Steam it's because the conveniences Steam offers are worth its tradeoffs. (Cloud saves especially.)
I have about 8T of game installers backed up, from GOG, Itch.io, and a bunch of smaller stores. Yeah, Steam going away would be annoying as hell, but I'd still have most of my games. And if GOG goes away, all my GOG games will still work.
I think Valve has done a lot for PC gaming, especially with Proton, and I can't deny they have some great sales. But other storefronts have great sales too, and I can appreciate Steam without trusting Steam.
