People who hate on new Star Trek love their superlative insults, but they always seem to have trouble stringing together a cogent metaphor to describe their feelings.
A train wreck is train that has already derailed, so while it can proceed to catch fire, it no longer has the ability to crash, or "culminate," into anything else.
Trains also as a rule don't crash into buildings that aren't train stations, as famously they operate on tracks.
Of course, were a train to crash into a building near an orphanage, the main headline there is that it missed the orphanage. Whew!
Now, if you were wanting to imply that the nuclear power plant it somehow crashed into (after it already crashed) later had a radiation leak, or exploded, or something, you failed to mention it.
Seems like that would be the actual worst thing to have happened in this story, so the main thing you've expressed in your metaphor is that things could've been a lot worse.
You could have just said "I very very very very much didn't like it" and you would have expressed the same level of nuance and conviction.
