See AllWith Strange Jigsaw, puzzlemaker Fleb wants getting stumped to feel like a gift
Ditto. Picked this up based of the article and greatly enjoyed it.
Roguelikes are my natural enemy and I need to understand why you all like them
Look at it this way:
You're playing Ninja Gaiden (NES). The game is NES hard of course, it's almost literally the definition of the term. You can play through it 100 times, getting a little better each time, but the game is the same.
Now take a theoretical rogue-like Ninja Gaiden. On the first run, it's exactly the same as the NES version. But as you play, you unlock more subweapon types. You unlock a longer sword swing a la NG3. Shadow Ryus. By a few runs in, you're able to get up to Jacquio, but he's still kicking your butt. But with that added power you're finally able to triumph. And you feel the accomplishment. You built up power, you overcame the challenges. Success!
But, NES Ninja Gaiden is still there! You can play it untouched, get that original difficulty fix. There are plenty of people that play First Run Hades or Rogue Legacy. (Well designed) Rogue-likes are like this theoretical Ninja Gaiden. They're a layer on top of a strong, NES hard game that provides an "easy mode" not through actually making the game easier, but by changing up the gameplay each time that allows for different gameplay styles and approaches.
A new Destiny game set in an alternate timeline is coming to mobile
In Reply To @LavaLampBamboo
The setting kind of requires it in order to use modern Destiny assets. This version is based in a split off timeline in the past that has only been mentioned in passing in the lore. If they went with canon stuff during this time, it would be a game about fighting other Lightbearers and standard people, with a huge special event of like... a random Fallen ship landing on Europa. The Cabal hadn't hit yet, the Hive were still sleeping on the Moon, the Vex weren't a real threat until Exos were up and running, etc etc. It'd be a very different game if it were adhering to Dark Age canon.
There's a case to be made for "What if we made it modern instead?", but that story is already being told in Destiny 2. Which this isn't supposed to be a copy of. So alternate timeline it is.
The cover of the new Discworld tabletop RPG brings back a flood of memories
Just from memory, so I may be messing a couple up.
Moist von Lipwig in Postmaster garb

Rincewind
Cultist delivering pizza to the Elucidated Bretheren
The Librarian
CMOT Dibbler
Imp y Cellyn and dwarf friend who I forget the name of (Soul Music)
Dragon from Guards! Guards!

Binky and Susan Sto Hellit
Leonard of Quirm maybe?
Death
Vimes and Errol
Granny Weatherwax
Don't remember the orange haired barbarian, but also Cohen and Conina
Carrot and Angua
The members of the Fresh Start Club. Shlitzel the boogeyman, ??? (werewolfish?), banshee that I can't remember, Windle Poons, the Winkings, and Reg Shoe
Gaspode
The Wizards of the Unseen University. I'd say Ridcully first, but that's probably the Bursar. Then the Dean, Ponder, two others, and Ridcully.
Nobby Nobbs and Sergeant Colon
Rincewind again
Lu Tze
Random people in the Broken/Mended Drum
Splatter troll (Probably Detritus)
Twoflower
Assassins (although two could be Mr Pin and Mr Tulip instead?)
Seriously though, no Vetinari?
