Id be rich and bored. Dialog trees put me right off. I don't want an in-depth conversation with every NPC. Just give me the info and let me get on with it.
Oh for the days of the single sentence NPCs from the SNES.
Not that I bear any ill will towards the PS5 but some impetus to sell consoles can only make first party games better. Xbox sales jumped with the launch of FH6 and I could see them bundling it for free at Christmas.
Releasing it so close to the festive season (and GTA) on PS5 would undermine this. Id expect it next June if at all.
One of the best ARPGs of all time. Absolutely nails the idea that game mechanics should get out of the way of the fun. Multiple games have tried and failed to copy it's mechanics, from Destiny to it's own sequel and they always come up short.
I've a feeling Microsoft might be looking at it's underused data centres and it's overpriced Xbox and putting two and two together. Chances are they'll launch a streaming service instead of a new console. Hook the Epic Store and Steam up to it and you've got the ultimate games portal.
I'm all for ownership and so on but it makes sense for any game that needs the internet to play to just be streamed instead. It makes FFXIV so much better because there are no huge patches to download.
The AI companies have bought up manufacturing capacity. There is as much RAM as their ever was, but the scraps have shot up in price because of the scarcity.
As per the article, the GameCube had to die for the Wii to be born. It was the highest selling console of its generation with much higher software attachment rates. It also made gaming more inclusive as a hobby.
That's not to say it's rivals were a slouch. PS3 was a media powerhouse with some of the most inventive titles of its gen. The Xbox 360 had an unparalleled online multiplayer experience.
Easily the best generation of consoles. Everybody ate well those years.
I feel there is some revisionism going on with this report. The little discs were out to solve the problem of load times on DVD by giving the laser less distance to travel. Wave Race may as well have been on cart for all the time is spends loading.
The PS2 pad was crap. Comparatively the GameCube controller is still probably the most ergonomic controller ever released. And it came in a reliable wireless version which quickly became the industry standard (and it even had the player number lights)
I'll admit to being a little disappointed when I first saw the trailer for Wind Waker..... But then I played it and it's easily a top 3 title. The single analog controls are sublime. This was the age when developers actually created cameras that properly followed the action instead of lazily mapping it to the right stick and handing control to the player. Neither Wind Waker, Sunshine or Prime suffered from a lack of right stick camera controls.
Special mention to the data transfer too that let you copy all your stats over to the sequel where you play as 4 different characters and gradually recruit the original cast as the game progresses.
I'm just hoping they move the genre on in some way. No doubt it will get plaudits from the press for being GTAV but bigger, but thats not enough. I bet not one review criticises it for a lack of innovation.
Ied somewhat by Harry Potter, itself a (not poor) derivative of the original Earthsea idea of a school for wizards. Adapting the first novel would have been difficult as 2006 was the height of Pottermania and Earthsea, despite being based on a 1970s book series would risk looking like a copycat.
The greatest villain in the Avatar canon was Zahir because he never really wanted any personal gain.
I look upon this post apocalypse where a man owes only loyalty to himself and those he loves and it looks like he actually won and achieved his dream. Wouldn't that be a twist for the books?
What downs? Ok, so the Shyamalan movie was terrible but we can look back on that and laugh, almost as an Ember Island Players version of the Netflix series!
From what I remember were 2 brilliant animated series, a highly underrated Korra videogame and a not actually bad Netflix tribute.
It doesn't need to be a reboot, just a rejig. The goodwill around the animated series shows that people care a lot more about the X-Men than they do the Avengers. It's time to put that team to bed by recentreing the story on the (presumably recast) Xavier and Magneto.
They don't need to do a whole bunch of single origin movies because the characters work better as a team. But the sheer volume of X-stories gives them a lot to play with in terms of comic adaptations.
Apocalypse would make a great new Big Bad but it gives them the opportunity to recast a whole new bunch of younger actors they can keep on the books for the next decade instead of the ageing Avengers.
May I start by suggesting Richard Armitage for the next Wolverine?
It's not about discs but preservation laws. Sony should be lobbying for copyright changes for abandoned platforms (so we can privately extract the files) and then launch Game Keys for the PS6 in the shape of PS1 memory cards.

Roland Emmerich’s 1994 classic is the kind of sci-fi Hollywood forgot how to make
My mates still rib me all these years later about going to watch Black Beauty instead of Stargate. Jokes on them because it was a great film.
Fable will officially be 20 hours long, Xbox confirms in new interview
Fable 2 is about the same length. I must replay that game at least once a year. Length =/= lifespan
Say hello to GTA 6's awesome new dialogue system

Forza Horizon 6 reportedly delayed for PS5 as console wars heat up

Diablo 3 is still the best Diablo and I will die on this hill

Plus Balthier voices the Crusader.

Nintendo's GameCube tantrum doomed the console but saved the company

7 classic JRPGs that are so good they never need a remake
Can we vote to have certain remakes removed? Secret of Mana is a stone cold classic and never needed a remake, then got a really bad one.
7 classic JRPGs that are so good they never need a remake
As others have said, there is a cracking mobile port available.

Halo 4 is still the best Halo game
Would you rate it lower than Halo 5, where 343 decided that the best way to improve Halo was to take the bullet sponge bosses from Destiny?
Fast Forever director hasn’t read the script that made Vin Diesel cry
What if they just made Fast X the finale?
Jason Momoa won. The cast are all dead.

5 theory-spinning takeaways from that Avatar: Seven Havens trailer
The greatest villain in the Avatar canon was Zahir because he never really wanted any personal gain.
I look upon this post apocalypse where a man owes only loyalty to himself and those he loves and it looks like he actually won and achieved his dream. Wouldn't that be a twist for the books?
First official Avatar: Seven Havens trailer could not be more exciting for Airbender fans

It doesn't need to be a reboot, just a rejig. The goodwill around the animated series shows that people care a lot more about the X-Men than they do the Avengers. It's time to put that team to bed by recentreing the story on the (presumably recast) Xavier and Magneto.

PlayStation fans are still furious about physical discs, but the data proves Sony is right to kill them
