Seems like a simple case of people enjoying the details and immersion more than others. *shrugs* I personally think the game is a masterpiece but I won't lie, it did take me several attempts to see it through to the end.
I could see the argument for having an unlockable mode (or mod?) which speeds up/eliminates some of these animations. Saying the game is "terrible" because of that is literally just clickbait, though.
