A legacy of philanthropy is helping advance the future of cancer care in Southern California. At Providence Saint John's Health Center, a $5.4 million gift from David and Martha Ho is bringing leading-edge innovation to patients through the addition of the Varian Ethos Linear Accelerator—an advanced radiation therapy system that adapts treatment in real time for greater precision and improved patient outcomes. This week we brought together our amazing philanthropy officer teams from eastern Washington and Montana. A highlight of our time together was getting to visit with Sister Rosalie Locati, who reminded us about the caritas of care to see and reflect one another's gifts back to each other. I cannot think of a better summary of our time together. So incredibly grateful to do meaningful work alongside this Mission-driven group of leaders, and to Sister Rosalie for grounding us in our call to be "reflections of God's healing love".

Tears fill Mike Boyle’s eyes as he looks around Providence Swedish’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. One year after surviving cardiac arrest, he’s back — this time standing alongside Alice Yuesheng Qin, RN, the nurse whose immediate CPR saved his life.  Mike was driving home on State Route 99 when his heart stopped. He was rushed to Providence Swedish Cherry Hill, where caregivers restarted his heart and helped get him the treatment he needs. Today, Mike is back to jogging and traveling — and supporting the excellent care he received at Providence Swedish by making a gift in honor of the team that was there for him. “I believe in philanthropy and giving back,” Mike says. “I want to do everything I can to support the team who saved my life.” Read Mike's story and support lifesaving cardiovascular care in the heart of our community today. https://lnkd.in/gqDWB4Yh #Cardiovascular #CardiacCare #HeartHealth #Philanthropy #Hospital

Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) at Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation

We are deeply grateful to Ms. Nina Mehta and Ketan Mehta, MD, co-founders of NeilMed Pharmaceuticals and longtime Sonoma County residents, who have made a transformative $5 million gift to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Foundation in support of the Caring Together Initiative. Their generosity will establish the Mehta Family Imaging Center within the Hansel Family Care Center and expand access to imaging and diagnostics, cardiac care and women’s health services. Dr. Mehta served as a critical care and pulmonology specialist at Memorial Hospital for 30 years, while Nina Mehta served our community as a physical therapist. Together they built a global health product company starting with a single order from Tuttle’s Pharmacy in 2020. Today NeilMed Pharmaceuticals is the most recognized nasal irrigation company worldwide, with deep roots in Santa Rosa. "Sonoma County is our home," Nina told us. "And Memorial is our hospital." Together, we are building a healthier future for every patient and family we serve. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gcgWzTwR #SRMH #MemorialFoundation #CommunityHealth

  • Please take a few moments to read Providence's newly released 2025 Annual Report to Our Communities. And thank you for all you do to advance our Mission.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬  Today, we published our 2025 Annual Report to Our Communities outlining how we are advancing our Mission at Providence by addressing critical barriers to health and well-being. Last year, Providence provided $2.1 billion in community benefit, supporting community health improvement, education and research, subsidized health services, free and discounted care, and the unpaid cost of Medicaid and other means-tested government programs. Our commitment to those who are poor and vulnerable remains strong, and throughout the report, you will see how we responded to what communities told us mattered most. That includes improving access to local services and care, expanding support for youth and families, and removing barriers to care. Thank you to our caregivers, partners and community organizations for their collaboration and dedication to serving others and advancing our vision of health for a better world. • Game-changing news from Oregon!   Congratulations to everyone on the Providence Foundations of Oregon team, especially Rebecca DeBo and Jenny Burns, and to Dan Oseran, M.D., Providence Heart Institute’s executive medical director, whose collaboration was instrumental to today’s announcement. Dr. Oseran is an incredible advocate for philanthropy, and we’re deeply grateful for his leadership and vision.   And of course, we’re immensely grateful to the Knights for partnering with Providence to advance exceptional care into the future.

Phil and Penny Knight are redefining possibilities in care at Providence. We’re delighted to announce the Knights have generously given a second transformational gift of $75 million, which redefines possibilities at Providence Heart Institute and Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Both gifts are the largest in Providence Oregon’s history. And that is not all. In the last 10 years the Knights have given nearly $200 million to the heart institute, the largest overall contribution ever by a donor! The Knights are changing the trajectory of care for tens of thousands of people every year. Patients across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest will live longer and healthier lives because of Phil and Penny Knight. They are speeding innovation and discovery and deepening patients’ connections to exceptional physicians and pioneering treatments. All of us at Providence thank the Knights from the bottom of our hearts for their commitment to others’ hearts. #transformationalgenerosity #philanthropyinOregon #redefiningheartcare

  • Providence believes health is a human right and strives to ensure every person receives the care they need – not just in times of illness but throughout their lives. In most of our service areas, Providence is the number one provider of care to patients covered by Medicaid, serving an outside number of vulnerable patients. Philanthropy plays a vital role in sustaining and expanding access to care for all in our local communities – removing barriers and funding transformative projects to strengthen community health and long-term sustainability. We're grateful to our incredible donors who share this belief.
